So pleased here too! Mr Cheery made a bid for early freedom yesterday and I was so tempted given the weather... but I am a rule follower by nature, so they've stayed in. And now, rather annoyingly, he's realised we have to nip out for an appointment first thing tomorrow so they'll have to wait til lunchtime for their freedom!!
Pictures please though tomorrow if you can all manage it 😁3 -
They're out!! 😍😍
Quite reluctantly, as it happens 😂😂 The younger ones didn't even notice the gate open, and the older three literally took one step outside the gate and stopped to eat the grass. I took a video, but stopped after over a minute because they were literally just standing in a pile in the gateway 😂😂
Still, they followed us down to the house, and came in for treats, and now I can see them pottering about on the lawn, which is one of my favourite sights 😍

So lovely to see them out and about Cheery! You have a beautiful garden, it looks so idyllic there! We didn’t let our feathery pals out today as we still haven’t got a garden gate and I don’t fancy chasing them down the street

Sorry, I'm a bit late with my "lockdown for hens is over" pictures. The little hen on the left of the first picture just flopped down against the wood, perched her head on the top, closed her eyes without a care in the world, and got on with sunbathing. I just love it when they do that.
For some of them, the sun, as we are South facing, is too hot so you can see some of the others further into the shrubs.

Oh look at them out in the sunshine edwink!!
How adorable!
Ours are enjoying the sunshine today, although it's quite breezy, which always makes them a little jumpy. They're spending lots of time in two of their favourite haunts - underneath the swing seat (nice and sheltered and in a protected little corner), and our porch (tiny, but always the prospect of a treat)

Lovely, lovely pictures of your ladies Cheery Daff and Edwink. Was this lockdown much longer than the last one that happened a while ago? It definitely seemed like it even if it wasn't. At least the summer months are coming up and they will be able to enjoy the sunshine. I do love to see the pictures of your hens on this thread although I do not keep hens myself as you know.

Glad you love the pictures that are posted on here from time to time. I really must get my act together as I take a lot of pictures of my girls so I have no excuse not to really 😁
With regards to how long lockdown was this time compared to last time, I think it is best if I leave the stats to Cheery as she is a whizz with all the figures as we have seen in other various posts she has made on here. Me I don't have a clue, to be honest, so we'll have to wait for Cheery I'm afraid.

I think this one was a couple of weeks longer. The last one started earlier (start of December I think) and finished end of Feb, but with localised restrictions that lasted longer. This one started mid Dec, and finished 1st of April, but the whole country at the same time.
I'll get my act together with more pictures too!3 -
Nothing better than a good old close-up of one of my nosey hens, bless her 🤣🤣🤣🤣
