Hmm, not sure why they all ended up as 'M's. The Silkies are invariably just called 'Fluffster' too. Our eldest daughter (23) has a habit of renaming everything - the cats have at least 3 names! All broodies get remained Puddle until the chicks hatch (hopefully tomorrow!).

Looking forward to my rescues - they will have 1/2 an acre of woodland/scrubland to explore. Not sure how many to get as not sure I will be able to keep up with egg production and everyone around us will have their own hens too. They might not be 'M' names.

I love watching mine - they are so funny when their little pompom bottoms bob up and down when they run. We have had a few bantam breeds over the years (and 2 separate dog attacks that killed quite a few) . So far no trouble with foxes - I expect that might change in the next place - far more rural.

Always got that box of corn ready for mine - they are free range n the garden so that's about the only thing other than meal worms they go crazy for, oh and the occasional frozen sweetcorn in the summer. Other than that they spurn greens etc.
