Hi, sorry I haven't posted. I think the whole business with the tenancy stressed me out more than I thought and I've been feeling a bit rough the past few days.

So last week was a complete wash out. Didn't get much done at all. We're also pretty skint this month seeing as we had to pay back some money we borrowed from a friend to get the new car (Motability car, had to pay for an advanced payment), plus other bills, rent etc and then the £96 renewal fee. So things will be pretty tight until OH's payday on the 31st July.

At the moment, we've got around £92 spare after bills etc (that's including the next 2 payments of my DLA, which I've taken into account). I can claim back £16 worth of prescription charges when my new pre-payment card comes through, so that will help.

I need to get those eMystery shopper surveys completed today, so that I can hopefully claim the £23 (£20 for the surveys and £3 I've already got on there) before they send the next lot of cheques out. I'm also going to try and get some Textbroker work done, as that pays weekly.

The car needs some more petrol. It's a bit of a gas guzzler, but it does have a green mode, which I have been trying to use more regularly. I'll put £20 in before I go to my mum's today and see how long that lasts us.

We got a load of shopping from Iceland yesterday. I had £25 of vouchers and we had to put £22 towards it. However, that should last us ages, so we'll only need to buy the basics, such as bread, milk etc.

OH has gone to visit his parents this weekend on the train. He got free tickets through work, so that didn't cost anything. I went to see the Minions movie yesterday with my sister and the kids. Didn't cost me anything, as we used my CEA card to get me in free. I also had a 50% off email, so it only cost my sister £15 for her and the 2 kids, so that was good.

It's my nephew's birthday on the 1st August, so I need to get cracking with Amazon voucher earning too. I don't want to have to pay cash for anything if I can help it. I've got £20 in there already, so will try and get an extra £30 over the next week or so.

I'll be back later with a list for the coming week - and I WILL complete it this time!!!

  • I like that bucket list Emz! :j Davis Cup at Queen's Club next weekend, or is that something that's going to have to wait until the debt is cleared? I guess you've already done Wimbledon since it's not on the list.

    Hi :)

Would have loved to go to Queens for the Davis Cup. Tickets are quite hard to get. We tried for the tie in Glasgow, but they sold out really quickly. I will get to see it some day though!!

We went to Wimbledon this year - a birthday present from my sister. We go for tickets every year, and have been a few times.

Thanks for posting, Emz:T, Glad to hear you're OK, though I'm not surprised you're feeling a bit 'down' after such a rubbish week.

Plenty to look forward to anyway, not least being a party on the horizon for your nephew. I still love kids' parties, probably a sign I never grew up myself:rotfl:. Helped out at a local village fete yesterday on the face painting. I absolutely loved it, all the painted children were so happy and excited. It was a very busy afternoon, all the children there seemed to be queuing at one point:eek:. The joys of being young!

Sorry the car is a gas-guzzler but it must be a joy to drive something brand new and shiny that nobody else has ever owned. Never had that pleasure actually. I wish you lots of happy driving in yours. Before I retired (early) I was earning a good salary in one of the professions and I used to love refinements in cars (leather seats and such like). Couldn't afford brand new 'top of the range' even then so always bought nearly new secondhand at a big saving on the new price. Still had all the luxury I wanted but it was never brand spanking new. Often only a couple of years old (once it was only 18 months old and had only done 3000 miles:j) Funnily, although I got into lots of silly debt I was never prepared to get into debt for cars. Used to trade in my current one regularly for a decent price and just make up the difference from savings etc. All this is a far cry from the old car I'm driving now. Very long in the tooth (it and me) but still looks OK (it, possibly not me:o). Wouldn't drive round in a rust bucket:(

I hope you have a peaceful time without OH and get lots done. At least it's spared you the ordeal of having to spend the weekend with his folks:j

Wishing you a happy and successful week. Take care of yourself x
  • wow, that is crap. Such poor service and to charge as well. bunch of !!!!!!s.

That aside, am glad to see your new diary. I think I will be starting a new one soon too.

7 down, 3 to go. Think I'll leave it there for tonight and finish them off in the morning.

    DFW activities for today:
    • Drove in green mode to save fuel
    • Went to a charity fete at my nephew's pre-school (it was for premature babies). I spent £3, but then made it back tonight when OH and I played Deal or No Deal in the pub and won £4 (didn't have a drink, we just played on the machine)
    • Completed 7 of the 10 surveys, earning me £14
    • Got an article to write on Textbroker.
    • Agreed to 2 hours extra overtime this Saturday and an extra 9 hours w/c 20th July.

:( Not been well today. Very bad stomach. Not sure if I've got a bug, eaten something funny or if it's just me. Needless to say I had to call in sick. Feeling a bit better now and managed to have some soup.

I did manage to get those surveys done this morning though, and they are worth more than I thought (£25).

Finally received my prescription card, so will be able to claim back the £16 of charges. Also been accepted to try some Jacobs Cracker Crisps on BzzAgent.
