Octavia or superb 1.9TDI - thousands of private hire drivers can't be wrong.
Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?

Jaguar, BMW, Audi, Volvo and Mercedes have no issue with Private Hire usage.

And the OP has not confirmed or denied that the vehicle will be used for Taxi or Private Hire use.

Most manufacturers don't tend to discriminate for Private Hire due to realising that it can be a lucrative bit of long term return business.

I don't think the 1.9tdi is that common in many Recent Skoda models, it is an extremely old engine now, I had one in a Seat Toledo in '99

If that was the case then almost every lease car in the UK would be unwarranted.

    Which is not the case.

Can anybody advise on a car to last me around 2/3 years to do 65k a year, ive been using hire cars and changing every few weeks. now the terms have changed at work so need to buy. im considering 2 options 1 is to buy a £5000 car that will last a year
2 is to buy a £10000 car to last 2/3 years
it needs to have 4/5 doors be able to carry comfortably 3 in rear and do 65+mpg. Thank you

Maybe consider a "van with seats" such as a Citroen Berlingo Multispace or similar. Should fit most of your criteria.

With regards to other responses suggesting the car will be used for private hire/taxi, there may be further requirements from the local authoritysuch as engine size, age, emissions, wheelchair accesibility etc., which the OP hasn't mentioned.

So best to assume the car won't be used as such, until the OP confirms (or denies).

also civic for that milage is going to be harsh, they are good cars but not for that sort of milage where you want maximum comfort.

I'm guessing you've never driven a Civic? I thought my old Accord was comfy but the Civic is far above a more comfortable car. The entire design of the driving position and dash is about comfort. Plus there is room for 3 adults in the back, none of this having to slide my seat forward to make room behind. My 7yr old Civic has done 130k miles, so has comfortable enough for me and previous owner to hammer the miles in, and im a big guy...

I think the Civic would be a really good outside shout instead of the usual repmobiles.

Wonder why the Skoda gets rave reviews while VW sucks. The Superb is just a Passat after all...

Probably down to expectations, if you buy a VW you expect it to be superior german engineering yadda, yadda and when it isn't you feel let down.

You buy a Skoda expecting it to be an eastern european shed and it isn't so you are pleasantly surprised.

    :)
