Benefit cuts timetable

Hi, I know at the moment the cuts to come in Wednesdays budget are just speculation, but the rumours are making me ill. i'm just so worried I won't be able to afford my rent or bills, as it is a struggle at the moment, before any cuts.
What I'd like to know is when will any changes happen. I mean really with regard to esa and HB, will it be immediately, from next week my money goes down, or next month. Thank you in advance for any help.
Making myself ill here, can't sleep, no appetite - could I be homeless next month:(

Why worry.

That's what the most upto date plans are predicted to be.Tomorrow is the most important thing in life0 -
Any changes wouldn't take effect immediately. They will require legislative changes. In addition the convention is that any changes usually take effect from the start of a financial year. The earliest that any changes would take effect from would most likely be April 2016.0

what will be will be I'm afraid
but its odd that in may they didn't know how they would save £12billion now 8 weeks later its all become clear...yeh right
expect the worst and then some I'm sorry to say0 -
Thanks for that. I wish I knew how to stop worrying lol
Does that mean that the changes may not take place till next year, I'm just scared they'll be immediate and not give me a chance to make other arrangements (cheaper flat etc)
EDIT: Just read the posts above. Thank you0 -

Do you know how much statements like that frighten people! Some have mental health conditions and scaremongering damages them far more than anything else.
OP - only a few things have been confirmed. I've not known any cut ever to occur immediately. In fact only the child benefit removal occurred mid year. Ones confirmed are April 2016Tomorrow is the most important thing in life0 -

I'm not convinced it is scaremongering, I think we are in for some almighty changes this week - some justified, some not. I'm also not convinced changes will not happen until April, changes in the law can happen very quickly, and I wouldn't be surprised if cuts start to be implemented from October.
OP I'd try to put it out of your mind until we know some facts, there's nothing you can do before then.0 -

If you want to share your circumstances with us we could possibly check that you are getting all the benefits you could be eligible for and perhaps show you ways to save money.
So your age, your housing situation, your current benefits etc etc
Whatever cuts are made there is nothing, even in the 'rumours', which suggest that people will not be able to manage - have to make changes, yes, be totally in poverty/homeless, no.0 -

sorry if the truth hurts; btw i have mental health issues amongst other stuff, the details of the budget have been well flagged up for weeks now,but i suspect he has some other tricks up his sleeve,if people are frightened it is with good reason, personally I'm scared as well but try not to dwell on it as i can't change any of their evil plans0 -
If they are anything like the extra childcare provision or the EU referendum which were also promised sometime in 2017 or possibly later.0

Thanks for everyone's help. It is much appreciated and I feel a little less panicky now.
pmlindyloo thank you for your suggestion, my details are below.
I am 44, no children. Live in a one bedroom flat with rent at £103 per week. My bills are around £50 per week (average about £200 a month) I also get reduced council tax so that's only £20 per month (included in my £200 for bills)
I receive HB of £180 a fortnight and ESA (work related activity) of £204 a fortnight, so roughly £192 a week. I spend around £15 a week travelling to doctors/diabetic nurse/hospital for blood tests and counselling for depression and anxiety. I am a type 1 diabetic with a few problems so lots of appointments unfortunately. That leaves me usually around £25 for the week for food and household stuff, around £3.50 a day. That's why any cut is going to leave me in trouble.
I can obviously look to see if the bills could be reduced, and my main aim is to get myself 'normal' again and get back to work asap. I moved back in with my parents for a few years ago as I wasn't well enough to be on my own, and only moved into my flat a few months ago, as I saw that as the first step for me to regain my independence. I now realise how expensive living on your own is. I have never lived alone before, always shared with friends etc so sharing bills and rent.
As I say, I am doing all I can to get better and get back into work and some sort of routine. Hope I can do this before any cuts are implemented. Its boring (and depressing) spending almost every day alone in my flat. I was just worried they may be implemented immediately and was worried how I would cope. I feel like I'm just about turning a corner and coming out of a very dark place, so this all just feels like a setback.
I don't take my benefits for granted. I want to be off them asap. I worked for 25 years and never claimed anything, and I appreciate so much the help I got when I fell ill and was unable to work.
Anyway I hope that makes sense, and thank you all again for your help. I don't post here much but have often browsed for advice in the past, and some people here really are lovely people who go out of their way to help others. I just think that's amazing!0
