How much do you tip the removal guys?

I am moving on Monday, using a small family firm. My new place is around an hour away, and I am leaving a 3 bed flat (3rd floor, no lift).
I have absolutely no idea if we are expected to tip the movers, and if so, how much would be reasonable? I don't want to be rude, I understand it is hard work, but I don't really want to go over the top - and can't really afford it either.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

You pay for their service which includes transporting stuff and factors like stairs would be taken in to account I guess. Lots of things are hard work such as... teaching! Do you tip teachers? Ironically, serving food isn't exactly difficult!
They haven't moved your things yet without breaking anything!
If you really wanted to be kind, say thank you a lot. Cups of tea? Money wise I'd guesstimate £10-20 and no more. It's only an hours drive!0 -
Zip, zero, Nadda,
although a cup of tea or sandwich would be optional"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

I gave my removal guys £20 last month. They were very helpful and friendly, even volunteering to skip a broken desk we were going yo ditch.
Certainly didn't begrudge them the price of a few pints.0 -
It's hard work, for which they are (I presume) already charging you a reasonable sum. Unless they go above and beyond the call of duty I wouldn't have thought a tip necessary.0

For our brilliant removal guys (4-5 of them) who took us about 8 miles across bristol, from our house in a narrow full de sac, we gave them about sixty quid and a big tub of miniature heroes & cups of tea.
That's works out about ten per cent, which is what I usually give at a cafe or restaurant.0 -
I gave £50 to share between them.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. The only thing I hate more than tipping is compulsory tipping aka service chargeMortgage (Nov 15): £79,950 | Mortgage (May 19): £71,754 | Mortgage (Sep 22): £0
Cashback sites: £900 | £30k in 2016: £30,300 (101%)0 -
If they went above and beyond I might. Or possibly if I thought they were being drastically underpaid by some evil bos. But if it's a normal service for a high price then I wouldn'tChanging the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0

I paid a removal firm £350 to move a two bed flat to a two bed house over three floors, on a Sunday. They took my bed and wardrobe apart (I didn't realise they needed taking apart!), my sofa apart, the fitted my washing machine for me at no extra cost etc. They worked 6 hours, and they were paid only £10 per hour by their company. I gave them £20 each, and they seemed surprised, but they really worked hard for me.' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".0

I helped my dad with a lot of removals last year and we never expected a tip, just the price we quoted, a few times customers put a extra few ££ in and while gratefully recieved it was ever expected, cups of tea / coffee are more appriciated as it's hard work, when they work out your quote they take petrol, labour and a bit on top into account , they will have take into account it's a 3rd floor flat i their quote, maybe offer them a sandwich or nibbles halfway through instead ??You live, You die, & the wheels on the bus go round and round .... be happy stay positive, You get 1 shot0
