Hmm - feedback of 8 - hardly a member to cry too much over a NARU.

But there are four other items for sale, all of which are sat nav DVDs (Blaupunkt, Honda and Ford). It's 99% certain that these are pirated too, as are the other items already sold (IDs kept private but at least one is DVD, from the feedback comment).

So, it's possible that Volvo UK might be interested, and if I were you I'd try to blag at least a nice juicy discount on the genuine article for your trouble for reporting it. Worth contacting the other companies involved, too, if not the police - looks like a large-scale pirating operation of extremely expensive copyrighted material.

Yes, of course in theory you are right, and the seller is also breaking eBay rules by fencing stolen goods (whatever the description, copies are illegal). No harm in trying, but I imagine the seller (feedback of 8, remember) will disappear at the slightest provocation.

if you have his trading name and address thats great, copy and paste his advert onto word and keep a copy (so you have a permanent record of it), then mail him and ask for a refund, tell him if he doesnt you will report it to ebay as item not described and pirate plus leave him negative feedback, he'll get kicked off and that will be that. Also tell him you intend to report him to Volvo unless you get a refund. It will be more hassle than its worth for him not to refund you, so you should get your money back if he has any sense.
I never missed a payment :T , I paid off all my credit cards :T , I paid of all my loans :T , i have a work mobile :T - but am now "medium" credit risk

Thanks so far, i printed out the paypal reciept with all is details on so i do have a hard copy.I have mailed him stating that i want a refund and if not i eill be reporting him to all the right people, hopefully that will make him sit up and listen.
  • report him to volvo and start a paypal item not as described dispute straight away
  • Are you 100% sure it's a fake? Feedback seems ok (and they don't all come from the same town). His items for sale are all similar but with some cheap starting prices and some expensive and are described as used.

if you paid by credit card, talk to your credit card company to say you reject the goods because they are pirated. Martin has an article about this.
