As the manufacturer’s code given by Dell is 33348, it would appear to be quicklinx 40BWTB on the dabs.com website. Given that the one review on that page was posted 3 September last year, the only way it could be described as new is if it’s new to the Dell website. Looking at Iomega’s product range suggests that, apart from the MiniMax range, their 3.5” external drives currently start at a minimum capacity of 320GB. This would suggest that Dell’s price is genuine and that they’ve just got some old stock they want to shift. Having ordered one myself, I’m not even sure I want it now. The comments from the reviewer on dabs.com that it gets rather hot and “now the external hard disk has failed” don’t sound very promising.

I wouldnt read too much into a single review on a single website.

One review? I could probably find you a bad review for every piece of hardware out there to be honest

I personally tend to find whatever gets rave reviews doesn't work as I expect. Problem is all these websites paid by companies to give good reviews and given products to test.

So true that, I bought a digi camera (Olympus) and every big site had great reviews - all fairly similar - started to use it and it was blurry as hell, finally dug around and found a personal review...exactly the same problems..bah

Well I for one will be contacting watchdog, that's the price they advertised so I want it at that price......
There's always someone who goes over the top isn't there :( Whinging to Watchdog already.
I think you need to be a bit calmer - I've only sent my complaint to Trading Standards as the first step, and will only escalate it if I don't get my confirmation email soon. ;)

    Any coupon codes? :rotfl:

Only thing I managed to find is if you goto the store via:

    http://www.dell.co.uk/epp

You can save a massive 3%!! Works out at about 47p off I think. :j

That is the employee discount link for all companies Dell affiliates with. Discounts of up to 7% off the total price.

I ordered around 6pm today, and got email that order has been confirmed, hopefully it will come. For £23 its not bad, even if it got a bad review. Dirt cheap price.

Order Status:Your order is being processed with our supplier. An estimated ship date will be available once the order has been accepted by our supplier

    Shopping Tips
Don't spend five pounds to dry clean a shirt. Donate it to the charity shop instead. They'll clean it and put it on a hanger. Next morning buy it back for two pounds.
