I've renewed LRS (early June)...but I still got the email on 1st July0

one thing that really bugs me is BT constantly hiking its line rental.
its money for old rope.
what do you actually get for the money?
and its practically a monopoly as whoever you go with has to pay the line rental to BT.0 -
Hi there, Plusnet confirmed broadband package prices aren't changing but if you're a Plusnet broadband customer paying line rental, you'll be hit with the price hikes. Kind regards, MSE Paloma0

I had the email informing me of the line rental increase from £15.99 to £16.99. I am on the weekend only package. In April I took out a new contract ( as I understood it) whereby they decreased broadband by £5/m for a year. That tied me to them for that year and I understood that well enough. I would have expected the increase to an element of the package (i.e. line rental) to also be fixed for the contracted period, but not for those out of contract. Seems not.
And that LRS increase is just enormous! Barely worthwhile making the large outlay. I am not on LRS at present and I understand that LRS includes no calls. So if I was to get LRS and add a call plan, that's the small saving more than wiped out! :mad:0 -
Whilst you can cancel within 30 days of recieving the e-mail if you have paid a years line rental up front they will refuse to give a refund. This seems like a licence to up prices and keep you tied in. Customer services are hopeless, they don't even recognise the name of their own director who sent the e-mail and certainly don't want you to contact him. Customer services is a misnomer.0

Yes but if you also have an Anytime or Evening calls package you are going to have to pay the increased price for that until your line rental saver runs out.0 -

Have you noticed how they have changed the normally yearly increase and keep bringing increase dates forward to get more revenue.
