Beach holiday for people with social anxiety?

Options
I have severe social anxiety and I pretty much avoid all human contact wherever I can. I want to go on holiday this year as I've only been abroad once to Spain when I was about 12. I'll be going solo and I'm looking for somewhere that is very hot with a stunning beach but the most important thing is that it's quiet.

Lots of loud drunk people at the poolside or holiday reps approaching me every hour trying to get me to take part in a "pool party" or something would probably make me die on the spot. I pretty much just want to wake up, go get something to eat in a quiet restaurant, head to the beach and all I hear is the sound of waves.

My budget is £1000 - £2000 for 7 - 10 nights, 14 is fine if my budget can stretch that much.

The place I'm describing is probably way too expensive for me (private beach) type thing but if you know anywhere that is popular and know for being a luxury holiday which is for quiet people please let me know!

Many thanks.

Somewhere that's popular isn't going to be quiet.
  • Agree with MissBiggles - if its popular chances are it isn't going to quiet.

Do you have to stay in a hotel ? Only asking as I doubt many reps would hassle you if you stayed in say a villa.

Are you planning on this country or abroad....only if its abroad how would you envisage getting there?

If you don't mind flying long haul, what about the Maldives.

Just checked out Hayes & Jarvis (TUI) and you can get 10 nights in September for £1,915

You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time
  • Somewhere abroad... I would fly there of course. I agree trying to find a place that is popular and it being quiet is going to be hard but for example I'm looking at a website called http://www.docastaway.com and they seem to offer the sort of thing I'm looking for.

It doesn't seem to expensive either, flight not included though....

Looks perfect, pretty much exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks.

Or what about a monastery in the Northern Himalayas? There's a few where the monks don't talk due to their vow of silence.

The beaches near Pyla Sur Mer are enormous, just a little walk from the car park and it'd be very quiet.

The Maldives does fit your criteria, but the distance makes it a bad idea with your anxiety. How are you going to cope with the flight? What are you going to do if you are unhappy and need to come home?

If your condition is as bad as you claim, pick somewhere more accessible.

Whole stretches of France's Atlantic coast are pretty empty outside the resorts, even in high season.

Even at "adventure level", most of those aren't within your price range as you're travelling alone.
