Greece has lots of very quiet islands, very hot in the summer, also has some very nice boutique hotels, villas or apartments/tavernas. Great beaches, great food....

I don't suffer from social anxiety but I can't stand crowded beaches at all. If there are more people than me and Mrs G, I regard a beach as crowded.

If you are prepared to hire a car, preferably a 4x4, and do a bit of research, there are plenty of options to be all on your todd in Europe and further afield.

Typical Mr and Mrs G beach holiday locations...

    Croatia.

I went to Split on my own recently and while the beaches near the town can be busy you can easily take a bus or ferry to other quieter places. At no point did anyone try to make me go to a pool party and there were no drunks around. Dubrovnik was the same although I went with friends here.

If you find somewhere, could you let me know?

My son is 15 and i cant take him on holiday as he also has severe SA. Going to the airport is too much for him at the moment, but i hope one day for him to be able to go on holiday somewhere.

All i can think is to go somewhere off the beaten track, away from the typical tourist spots, hire a villa etc.

good luck, i hope you find somewhere.

There are direct trains to the south of France from St Pancras, would that be easier?

Btw airports are least busy for the last flights of the day and if you pick a smaller airport with small aircraft, the crowds are much less.
Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.

Thanks Richard, thats appreciated. Unfortunately we live so far away from London, and he cant really leave the house very much at the moment, and even smaller airports are not possible. But when the day comes that he can brave it, i hope that your advice will help :)

He will see a psych in a few weeks, so hope that medication will help him.

As suggested already, northern France might be a good option. You can drive there in your own car. Use the tunnel and you don't really need to mix with anybody else at at all.
  • Thanks for your ideas guys, very appreciated. I do not drive yet and I'm fine with travelling on a plane and going to the airport etc because I know it's only temporary and I can just put in some earphones and listen to music.

I don't mind seeing people, it's the noise and interactions that make me panic. At a social resort people will constantly be making an absurd amount of noise, reps approaching me trying to sell me their events etc.

At an airport or in a plane nobody is going to be talking to me or bothering me. The maldives looks perfect!
