Hi, I will be keeping the Now TV box, but often someone else in the house is using it. The plan is to use the Fire TV stick in a different set. Though thinking about it I may be better off just getting another Now TV box.

How do you manage to avoid all the obtrusive adverts ( which drive me to distraction ) without using a paid for service or a device with a hard drive such as Freeview Plus or Sky Plus? Both of which cost considerably more than the cost of a Fire stick or Now Tv box

    Thanks

We just got one of these Fire Sticks this week and I love it already. Going to give it another few days to explore around it but I'm hoping it means we can finally cancel Sky and have an extra £60 in my bank each month.
Does anyone know what sports channels it has? My OH really only has sky for sports and we're currently paying the dreaded out of contract penalty with BT to get BT Sports so I'm hoping I can do away with both of these with the Firestick??

By using a browser and streaming whatever it is you want to watch from a different source. Might not be HD but at least there's no ad's. I can't stand them.

Some potentially good news in terms of pay-tv channels being added via "TVPlayer" for £4.99 per month.- see http://www.tvplayer.com/plus
.... TVPlayer Plus is coming to iOS, Android and Amazon Fire TV devices ...

  • Hi Everyone, wondered if someone could answer a couple of questions about the Amazon Fire stick.

We're looking to get away from all the adverts that come with Sky, so do you get many adverts with the Amazon Fire Stick/ Amazon Prime Package?

Also, are you able to create an automatic shuffle of programs? so for example, with kids programs, can we create a random shuffle of Dora the Explorer and Peppa Pig series, rather than having to set up a specific playlist of individual episodes? Or is there something similar so that it gives a feel of watching live TV.

    Thanks
