Disneyland Paris/EuroDisney - Questions & Answers

I really want to go to Disneyland Paris.. I have like all my life! (I'm 16). I'm trying to find a trip that's a really good deal, I have a younger sister who is 11, and then my parents also. I know that we can't spend loads on a holiday, but my sister really wants to go to Paris, and I'd love to go to Disneyland! I want to try and find out what the best deal is so we could save up to go in a year or so, as my Dad has said before that it's something he'd really love for us to do (he's been a fair few times before with his work - paris and orlando). I've been researching but the cheapest I could find is a grand. I know travel is expensive, but that seems like a lot for a 3 night break. Am I looking wrong, or is it just really expensive to go here? I'm trying to evaluate whether it'd be cheaper for us to go to Disneyland for a few days, or Italy for a week. There seem to be loads of deals flying around, is it best to ask in a travel agents?0

no, don't go anywhere near a travel agents until you know what you can get for your money.
first of all, what time of year can you go (some times are more expensive than others)? How would your family prefer to travel, Eurostar, car/Eurotunnel or flying?0 -
Hi,
Local travel agent has organised a trip to DLP on the Aug bank holiday weekend. it is £767 for 4.
Breakdown is:
Coach to and from DLP
Ferry Crossing or Eurotunnel (TBC)
2 full days Hopper Tickets in DLP
2 Nights Santa Fe Hotel & Continental Breakfast
I've been trying to price it up to go ourselves but I am not sure if I am getting the best deals.
To book it through Disney on the same dates it £730.80 just for the Hotel and Tickets in the park.
I would love to take the kids, and the idea of the coach appeals if it was just adults but being cooped up on a coach with not only our potentially bored and tired children but other people's aswell... I am abit worried it could be a nightmare!0 -
how many is it for? what are the ages of the children? what dates were you looking at?
how else could you get there ie could you drive? eurostar? fly (probably expensive in August though).0 -
2 Adults, 2 Children 3 & 5. We could drive so either ferry, eurostar or fly.
Hotel doesn't have to be on site, but we would like to spend 2 full days on DLP, with them being so small and slow lol! Not remotely fussed about grandness of hotel, as long as it is comfortable were happy.
Could go potentially at any point during the summer so 24th July - 30th August0 -
My friend is going from Newcastle, flying , 2A an 1C and she is at Sante Fe and it is costing her £1683.
I have stayed at Sante Fe it is ideal.
On site is much better for the EMH which you will be very glad of during July / August.
The heat and crowds.
If you could go midweek at all that would be a little less busy.MollyJoe0 -

Wow, £1683 seems a lot, how long are they going for?
Sorry for my stupidity but what is EMH?
Thanks0 -

okay if you can drive, do that - its going to be by far the least stressful way of travelling with young children, and it will be a lot faster than a coach journey. If you have tesco clubcard vouchers you can use them to pay for the Eurotunnel - check the prices on the Eurotunnel website. Once you are in Calais its around a 3-hour drive to Disney.
Supposing you pay full price and add on European breakdown/insurance with Eurotunnel, thats about £140. Tolls and fuel in France, possibly another £90 total.
I've had a quick look for park tickets, and to be honest, because cemultiavantages are selling their children's annual passes for only 35 euros when you buy an adult one at 125 euros (the fantasy annual pass) I can't find anything cheaper than this for your family, even for just 2 days. So that would be around £300 total. The advantages with these are that you could use them for 3 days, depending on how early you arrive on your first day and how late you want to leave on your last day, you get discounts on food and souvenirs while at DLP with them, you get free car parking at DLP with them, and you can use them again as much as you like within 12 months of your first day at DLP this year.
So that leaves around £230 for a hotel for 2 nights - the HiPark Serris is just under that in the last week in August on travelrepublic - fabulous new apartment buildings, within walking distance, and also close to the train station one stop away (less than 5 minutes journey) from DLP. You could get the Sejours et Affaires in the same area of val d'europe for around £140 for the same dates.
eta - Extra Magic Hours is 2 hours from 8am to 10am, when the main park is only open to Dream and Fantasy annual pass holders, and guests of the onsite hotels. Not all the rides are open, but nearly all the ones which are open, your children would love (and you will have minimal queueing in the first hour).
If you buy Fantasy annual passes from cemultiavantages you get access to EMH, no matter where you are staying (you don't have to be staying in an onsite hotel).0 -
Wow thank you balletshoes, what a star you are! I wish there was a double thanks button!
I will do that instead.0 -
We are planning a visit in September, would like to stay at one of the Disney hotels for 2 nights / 3 days in the park, and travel there by EuroStar from London. We are a family of 4 (all over 18).
The only offer for Sept at present - is to get 2 extra nights, (4 nights/ 5 days) which is too long in the park for us. Is there likely to be any different offers over the summer?
Looking at Eurostar offers, we can find returns from London to DLP for £70 in June & July, but its much more expensive in September. Any chance there be any other Eurostar offers nearer the time?
thanks in advance!0
