I went disneyland last month for 3 days little one really enjoyed it.
Driving was easy but take a sat nav just in case. On the last day before comming back we drove to paris it's not to far from the disney parks. The satnav also handy for finding local shops to buy essentials places like carrfour as it's a lot cheaper. We stayed in the davvy Crockett ranch premium cabin was clean and pleasant and very local to the park. Driving took long about 2 hours 45 minutes.
Enjoy your trip :-)Save Save Save:o

I'm looking for anyone who can settle a debate! I want to book RStransport from CDG to Disney round trip £100 DH wants to use public transport which looking at raileurope will cost us around £105 iirc. Dh thinks that the rail europe price is wrong and it will be cheaper when were actually there.
So what would you do?! Oh and to also add we will have a five year old and I'm 28 weeks pregnant (you know for sympathy)

If its cheaper (is it the TGV he's looking at?) it won't be much cheaper - have a look on sncf (the French version) for the cost of the TGV in euros. Thats how much the fare actually is when you buy at the station inside CDG.
rstransports shuttle will be far more convenient for you, especially with a pregnant spouse and a 5-year old. Quite possibly quicker too, when you add in the extra time you may need to factor in waiting for a TGV train, and walking to the station in terminal 2, compared with rstransports picking you up when you arrive, near your arrivals gate.0 -
I was wondering if you could help with some advice re our trip to DLP in 3 weeks.
We are a party of 5. Two adults, three children (3,4,9) and the eldest has Autism and dyspraxia.
We have booked into Davy Crockett Ranch for 4 nights/5days. Arriving hopefully midday on Monday and leaving around 4 on Friday. We are driving (well I am OH doesn't drive) over on the ferry.
We have opted to go self catering (the kids can be fussy). We will be taking some food with us, but just a few bits that I wouldn't be sure of getting in France. We are planning to eat in the park one night.
The plan was to go into the park monday and pop out to unpack and have a few mins relax at tea time. Then have a wander round the ranch
Tue/Thur, all day in the park (we normally on holiday plan to be home for tea and then the kids go to bed normal time of around 7/8)
Wed - Spend the morning in the ranch doing the bits there, have dinner and then head to the park in the early afternoon, to hopefully see the parades and things that finish late so will have our tea there this night.
Fri, the park til we need to leave for the ferry.
Lunch in the parks will be packed stuff from the cabin hopefully, we have a pushchair for the little ones to share, hubby will have a back pack and I have a large handbag to take stuff in.
Roughly how much do you think the tolls are going to cost us each way with the driving?
Do you think the plan of what we are doing seems feesible - any hints and tips greatly appreciated. Do you think we will get by with the food plan?
Ref food - where is a good place to buy the rest of the weeks food in France? We have never been out of the country before so really need idiots guide. Is there any regular UK things that we wont get in France so need to take with us?
I have seen on pics that the cabins don't have a cooker?? Stove top and bbq? Any tips on how to handle the self catering??
We are planning on having around £700 to cover petrol, food and spending money - does this sound like enough? The kids actually have £375 of that as birthday money from relatives, so other bits need to come out of the £325 we have found (petrol, toll, food, snacks)
I have read somewhere that you are not allowed to take in a "picnic" do you think we will get away with what we have planned. Each of my kids drinks around 3L a day each, more if the weather is good and they are walking all day, so was planning to take undiluted squash and some bottles of water to refill in fountains? Do you think this will work?
Based on the ages of the children, what would you say are must do's? Is there any "old school" disney stuff around. My daughter absolutely loves the old films like Jungle book and Dumbo. Another favourite with all of them is the Lion King. If there is any stuff like this that would be excellent.
Lastly, is there anywhere to get brochures and information about the shows meet and greets etc before we get there? Looking online it is so hard to sit and plan, it would be helpful if there was a way to get the information sent out to us to go through?
Thanks ever so much for reading and in advance for any help and tips.:T

Hi
I haven't been for a year now but when we went we done something very similar to you although we stayed in the sequoia lodge.
We took in lunches and just sat on a bench to eat it. They don't have any picnic areas as such from what I remember (someone may know different now). We sat the kids in the buggy to eat and took stuff like mini cheddars and indivually wrapped croissants. You do have to be careful leaving stuff outside each of the rides so as long as your happy carrying it it shouldn't be too much of a problem. We took sandwich bags and packets of cookies, just bits really to get us by till lunch.
We spent the day at the park and went back for dinner and bed if we had a bit of time after dinner we went swimming. (although you'll need to check if you have one and opening times. It is defiantly
Worth staying at least one evening to see the castle at night.
We went by Eurostar so can't help with the rest but I'm sure there's someone out there who can.
Oh and just a tip I cheated and took some Disney bits and my daughters dress up Cinderella dress with me. Might save a few pennies getting it here if you have the room.
Have a fab time xx0 -
We went to disneyland in May and stayed at the cheyanne. Both my boys have dyspraxia and we took lots of food as they are extrememy fussy!
We didnt get asked not to eat our own food and we took refillable sports bottles from home and we were not asked to empty them or anything. Definatly cheaper to do that than buy bottled water once in. Take your own fruit as its 1 euro per piece - we will definatly take more when we go again.
The buzz lightyear restaurant is open at lunchtime in the discovery zone i think. its self service buffet which was essential as the boys wont eat foods that touch each other on the plate. Drink refills are included in the price and so is fruit from the fruit bowl. it also has a soft play area.
In the movie park the shows are great - we saw stich live twice.
I think you will have enough money - you can spend on a budget or splash out.
Dont buy gifts in the first store you go in as you will probably find something else in one of the other many, many stores!
We didnt see the light shows at the castle as we kept to routine for the boys and they were in bed between 7.30pm and 8pm but they dont feel like they missed out.
Have a wonderful time xMum, wife and dinnerlady!0 -
Thank you both. It is lovely to hear that your boys didnt feel they missed out sticking to the normal routine.
We have a couple of dress up outfits - I cant see a reason why we shouldn't be able to squeeze them in, the outfits sound expensive, so if they want one it can be from their money.
I didn't know about the live shows - they sound fun, will have to make sure we get to see at least one.
We are all very excited, but I'm feeling bad wishing away the summer holidays now for it to come.
This perhaps sounds a little silly, but you said to be careful about what we leave outside the rides, we were planning on leaving the bags on the pushchair outside of rides, is theft quite common. It sounds silly but Ive always kind of taken it for granted that it would be ok as staff are nearby (where we have been in the UK at least).
Moneywise we will split between hubby and I and we will probably both keep it on our person on the rides, it would be more drinks and things that we have bought x0
