Hi everyone my amazing parents gave me, OH and DD 7) a Christmas present of 3 nights at Disneyland we sooo excited!!!! :j e are going February half term and I really want to plan the trip so we see as much as possible in the time as its likely to be the only time we go. Can anyone recommend the best guidebook to buy, I've seen the latest Unofficial Guide Book but that was printed in 2010 is it out of date or we will still find it useful?? Also is the character dinners worth the extra money, we haven't got much money to spend and I would rather spend the money on something else if its not

Thanks to anyone who can help :)

Magpie what a fab pressie! We had a Character Breakfast and it was well worth it as Little one got to meet Mickey, Minnie, Eeyore, Goofy without such a mad rush as the charaters come to you and pose for photos with you.

    Hmm good point.

Just looked and down here the first week of June is the Half Term. I assume because of the Bank Holidays this will be the case everywhere?

Plus have checked the French holidays and none of them are off end of May / June.

If I was to look at the last week in May (28th - 1st) I should be ok holiday wise? Plus thinking of hitting the park on the Monday and Tuesday. I assume (again lots of assumptions! lol) these days will be quieter?

I know it is with us too, just for next year. I guess it doesn't affect the French schools as I'm sure they don't give a fig for the Queen's Jubilee! Lol.

DH is just trying to book our transport from CDG to the hotel and back (13 days and counting!!). RS transports website declined our credit card for some reason so it's back to square one there.

    Jx
And it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end

    Wow! That's a great present!!

I wouldn't bother with a guide book as you can get all the info you need online and you will be able to spend the guidebook money on something far better. The DLRP website is great - check it out.

Three nights is a good amount of time to spend there so you will see it all easily.

I didn't really see the point in character meals as we go when it's quiet and see all the characters anyway, but we went to Cafe Mickey last time we were there and it was worth every penny!

you can just pay the driver with rstransport - so if you're booking a return with them pay them half on your first trip, and the rest on your return with them. I used my debit card to book with them a couple of months ago, that went through no problem.

yep, i agree with all of that - cafe mickey is great for meeting the characters, and you see the biggest number of them if you do dinner there (you can buy pizza etc to share to keep the cost down). the characters come out pretty much continuously from around 6.15pm onwards for dinner.

The other thing I've thought of - would there be much point in me taking alot of cash/euros with me, or can I pay with everything on my credit card (which I do over here anyway)? Given the problems with the euro and everything I'd be happy getting as little as possible.

DH is tearing what little hair he has got out now with EZ shuttle. He e-mailed them yesterday about the kerfuffle with the credit card booking thing, and now they've e-mailed him back......... in French. Can't understand a word. <slaps forehead>

Edit - oh it's okay, he's downloaded an attachment from the e-mail which was in English and confirms the booking, where to meet, etc... Good job he didn't give it up as a bad job with all the fannying about and book with someone else instead!
