Thanks guys - still not booked am trying to talk hubbie into booking prestige! And yes £2000 or nearly!! - 1200 hotel/park and flights - £150 hotel and parking at dublin ( flight is 6.25am) - 50 petrol to dublin - (we are in the north )- 250 transfers to disney - eating throughout the traveling period - plus we wanted to buy the boys lots of disney gear to wear out there to save us having to buy them there - hats/t shirts/ swim wear etc at least another £100 .

I admit its a one off and we will plan it better next time now i know about transfers - going with ryanair has turned out to be a real curse! ANyway its our first holiday since having kids so am going to suck it up and enjoy !

    Thanks everyone

Have just booked and paid for a Eurostar trip/Explorer hotel at DLP for myself for the second week of June. Brother and kids have booked the Cheyenne but their room is at capacity and no rooms at Cheyenne for me.
Anyway, have been looking at Expedia for more info on the hotel, and it says they need a credit card or cash deposit for incidentals.
I do not have a credit card.
Do you think my debit card will do, and if not how big a cash deposit will I need?

I'm sure I didn't need either of those, and wasn't asked by the hotel to provide them, when I checked in at the Explorers a couple of years ago.

OK, heres hoping. I have had to save like mad to afford this holiday, so would prefer not to leave a large cash deposit! -(more spending money!)

Can't speak for the explorer hotel, but most others want a card, and may be difficult if you don't give them one.
Having said that, they accept debit or credit cards normally. Visa debit is usually more common.
You could always call them to check.

    They speak good english.

    Thanks for the info.
I have a Visa Debit card, so hopefully that will be ok. And there should be enough in my bank account to cover a couple of hundred euros holding fee, if that's what they do.

Do you mean other hotels around DLP mikey? Its just that I've not had to give any card details at any onsite hotel I've used, nor the Explorers, Magic Circus, or the Etap at Val d'Europe.
I always thought the card registration was more a US hotel thing?

When I was in Portugal last December, they took an imprint of my debit card, so it was fine. (although rooms were prepaid)
I was with a friend who had a credit card though, so if they hadn't taken my debit card it would have been OK.

On the Expedia website it says credit card or cash deposit , under policies:

I can't find anything on the Explorers own website.
