Hi can anyone recommend a cheap but nice hotel near Disneyland Paris - Im going for 4 nights on the 21st September and Have booked Davy Crockett ranch but were travelling over on the 20th so need a cheap hotel for that night

How many are in your group? The Etap and Ibis hotels are right next to the train station at Val d'Europe - you can get the Etap from around 40 euros per room per night. Some of the associated hotels for Disney (Kyriad, Explorers, Magic Circus and Dream Castle) also sometimes have very good rates on their own websites, you can also find them on the likes of Expedia, travelrepublic, alpharooms, sunshine.co.uk etc.

I heard that the rooms in the hotels do not provide a tea tray (like our hotels do) is this right? If it is it looks like i'll need to take a travel kettle and a stack of tea bag - I am a teapot!!!!

Thats right although you can buy a tea basket from the hotel for around 6 euros which comes with a few teas, coffee etc but we take our own. Kettles can be borrowed free you just pay a deposit of 25 euros which you get back when you return the kettle. Theres no fridges in the hotels to store milk though.
Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.

We had a kettle in the room at the Cheyenne ( it was wired in) but requested one at SL and didn't pay a deposit so I think it's hit and miss tbh. Wise to budget for it though, just in case.

We stored milk in the mini bar at SL and they didn't seem to worry about it.

We took small cartons of UHT milk with us last time and opened one every other day so it didn't have time to go off.

  • Hi All

We are going to DLP in 2 weeks time and i'm just after a bit of info, the parks are closing at 18:00 the week we are there does that mean everything closes? What time do the resturants close?

Also do the shops / resturants stay open in the Disney Village when the park closes.

    Cheers :-)

If the parks close at 6pm, that means everything in the parks will close very soon after 6pm (ie within about half an hour of that). If you do want to eat in the park as late as you can, you may be refused if you go to the restaurant of your choice any later than about 4.30pm.

But you can visit any hotel in the resort after the parks close, regardless of where you are staying, for dinner/a drink/a look around etc. Each onsite hotel has at least one dinner restaurant and a bar. And of course the Village restaurants and shops are open every day until very late in the evening (ie after 11pm)

They aren't cheap, I know that, but then they aren't in any amusement park.

There is set locations where you can have photos taken with the characters and also every hotel has a character or two visit in the morning and they have photographers too.

You can go to any if the hotel lobbies to see the character as they tend to have different ones, from memory.

Other option is a character meal as I'm sure they have photographers there too.

If you really want a photo with a certain character, it us always wise to turn up very early as the queues can be huge!

When are you going ( you've probably said but I can't remember, sorry)?

For general character meets, don't be too polite or you will be lost in the scrum!! Sometimes it is easier to stand back and let your child worm their way to the front, if they are confident enough, as some parents are very rude and will barge right in front of you, but the staff will usually step in if they do it to a child.

That's my experience anyway! We Brits are an odd breed in DLP as we think in terms of orderly queues while other nationalities think 'free for all'!

Sorry if that offends anyone but it's my true experience.

Great place though - I love it! :j

Have you checked out the dlrp forums or disboards - they will tell you prices and there is all sorts of info about ride closures, facilities etc?
