Disneyland Paris/EuroDisney - Questions & Answers

Regarding taking euros over a debit card, I prefer to take euros as I find it easier to budget - you also know what exchange rate you'll get. I then use my card for back up. Maestro/Visa debit can be used everywhere.
As for the baby switch, it's best to advise every Cast Member (employee) that you encounter along the queue route, but it'll be the last one you see who will usually implement the "swap".
Here's a web to check the weather in Paris for the following 12 days:

I think the only hotel in disneyland which cater for larger families is Hotel Explorer, this is just 5mins free shuttle ride to the parks & tons to do for the kids in the hotel itselfDont get Ripped off by banks, stash your money under the floor boards0 -

I was less than impressed with the Explorer's Hotel - it felt very much like a UK package holiday environment. A good alternative is the Adagio Aparthotel which is another "partner" hotel with Disney. They offer self catering apartments that sleep up to 9 and are basic, but very good. I've stayed there several times and never had a bad experience. The last time we stayed our apartment was on two floors and had 3 bedrooms as well as sofa beds in the living room and 2.5 bathrooms.
It's slightly further out, but there is a free shuttle or you can get the train which is a 10 minute walk away through the local shopping centre. Also the hotel is a 2-3 minute walk from a dining district that features lots of options for meals (including a McDonalds) which although it seems a shame to end up there is great for fussy kids.
I'm new here so I don't know the technicalities of posting links, but if you google it you'll find it easily.
If you have a car and big bucks I can also recommend the Marriott which is about a 5 minute drive away and very nice. They also offer apartments which would suit your family.0 -
Hello...hoping someone will be able to help me...I'm new to this...
I am going to DP (for the first time) in July with my family. We are doing it cheap - renting a gite about 8km from DP for a week and driving back and forward to DP for 4 days.
I have had a look at buying tickets - on their own, not as part of a package. Attractiontix seems to offer the best deal just now with 4 days tickets for £109 adult/£93 child.
Prices jump up on 2 April to £122/£104.
It says tickets are valid for 6 months, so if I buy now at the cheaper price, they should be good for July, right? Seems obvious, but I want to be sure before I buy tickets only to be told they're not any use. I have tried contacting attractiontix but no reply yet.
Also does anyone have any experience of using attractiontix.co.uk?
Thanks!

Regarding character meals, I really like breakfast at the Plaza Gardens. Not only is the food good, but if you book an early sitting you get to walk up Main St. before the park opens which is fab for photos etc. and a really magical experience.
This may have changed, but it used to be that if you're staying onsite you got a discount on breakfast here as technically you've already paid them once for breakfast as part of your package.
You can book in advance for any of these options on +33 01 60 30 40 50 or when you get there. I would advise if you want to book for the Auberge that you call ahead.
Regarding the meal plan. I used it for the first time last year and it saved us lots, but that was just as the exchange rate went southwards and Disney hadn't adjusted their prices accordingly. Nowadays I'm not sure they're as competitive. We used ours to see Buffalo Bill's Show (which is another good dining option) and also as part payment on a nice meal at the DL Hotel.0 -
Another tip for those with young kids. Get a FastPass Peter Pan first thing then ride Dumbo, the Carrousel and The Teacups. It should then be about the right time to return to ride Peter Pan. You'll then have the worst of the kids queues behind you except for Buzz Lightyear.
As a general rule anything like Dumbo etc. which has to load and unload every time will have a longer queue than something like It's A Small World which loads continuously and should be ridden early.
There are a few very popular exceptions to this rule such as Big Thunder Mountain and Crush's Coaster in the Studios.0 -

The best advice I can give is don't buy them.
Instead buy Anuual Passes when you get there. A basic Annual Pass costs £116 each (same price for adults and children). If you buy 5 you get a family saving which makes them £93.
With these passes apart from getting a year's worth of admission (see below) your parking at DLP is free everyday (instant saving there as I think parking is about 11 Euros a day). You also get 10% off in shops and restaurants, 15% off Buffalo Bill's Show, up to 25% off hotels for future stays and 10% off 1 day tickets for friends.
The only downside is that there are 30 restriction days on this pass and 4 of them are in July (the 3rd, 4th, 10th & 11th). The pass with non restricted days is 60 euros dearer (£171 or £138 with family discount), but comes with better discounts including 20% off in shops, free drinks, free left luggage and pushchair rental and access to the park earlier in the morning than other offsite guests.
I would recommend you buy at least one of either annual pass just for the discounts on parking and food.
Unfortunately, Disney don't market these in the UK. The best way to get one is to buy a 1 day ticket when you get there which you then exchange (and pay the difference in price) at the Annual Pass office inside the park at the entrance to Discoveryland.
I have held an annual pass off and on for years and would recommend them to anyone staying 3 days or more.
You can only get info in French from Disney at their Disneyland Paris site, but info in English can be found at dlrpmagic.com in their planning section.0 -

Just a slight correction to ukfans excellent post, you can buy an annual passport at the standard desks on your way in as well
"You can pay for an annual passport from any of the normal ticket windows at the entrance to either Disney Park, they're listed up alongside the regular tickets. Do this and you'll get a Temporary Pass which allows access into Disneyland Park for that day only."
http://www.dlrpmagic.com/planning/booking/annual-passports/#/buying-an-annual-pass
You do however have to visit the annual passport office in Discoveryland at some point in the day to get your photo taken and the proper pass issued.
We did this last May on our trip. We are using our passes again this year for a week just before they run out so you get 2 holidays for the 1 year pass (18 days inside the park for us)I beep for Robins - Beep Beep
& Choo Choo for trains!!0
