Disneyland Paris/EuroDisney - Questions & Answers

We are taking our boys aged 10 and 8 in a week's time. It has been a big secret since we booked the nearby-ish gite at Christmas and we are doing the big reveal at the weekend - if I had told them any earlier they would have been unbearable!
We went to DLP on our honeymoon in 1992, it had been open only 2 months by then so I'm sure that there will be lots more to see - a 2nd park for starters.
My question is this: I've made sure that the kids haven't spent all their Christmas money as I'm sure they will want to buy a souvenir or three, is there anything that is better value or to be avoided in the shops within the park it's self? We haven't been on holiday for many years so I want to be decreetly frugal/MS not 'oh no dear you don't want that' like I usually am!0 -
Quick question, i've booked the Kyriad, but i'm now wondering if I should have booked a Disney hotel because my daughter would then get free entry into the park. I've reserved the room on my card, can I cancel without losing any money? I can't see it on the site. x0

How old is your daughter? if shes under 3 her entry is free regardless where you stay. if shes over 3 and you bought a package (tickets included) hers would also be includedWins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -
Just got back from 4 days in DLP and had a fantastic time. Went with my wife and son-4 and daughter-3. Went in eurostar from ashford and thought that disney express was great, it meant we were in the park within 3 hours of leaving ashford station. The kids loved all the parades, shows and rides. The Q's for the rides weren't too bad (max 1 hour). Would def suggest making meal reservations as we saw lots of people being turned away when they tried to just turn up.
We were lucky to get all our meals free as part of an offer but would have easily spent £100 per day for lunch and dinner.
We rented a buggy for our youngest at 7euro per day. You pick one up at the stall just inside the gates and take it back when you're done (although you can just abandon it at the gate on the way out!!). Only downside was if you go from one park to the other you have to leave the buggy and get another one from the other park.0 -

I wouldn't fancy a coach DLRP trip with a 2 and 1 year old anyway !!!
Not sure what hotels take 5 people, but I think a package would be the way to go,if you want to stay onsite
with Eurostar etc separate
It is VERY cold near xmas though ( not to mention the queues / crowds!) not much fun for little ones
Disboards is fab for all info DLRP related
WE self drive ( eurotunnel with tesco clubcard vouchers) and stay offsite,so hopefully someone will be along to help with packages / onsite hotels
we went on coach twice, dd and nephew were 2 an d last time she was 3 and was no diff to going by car, just more eelaxing. we expected it to be cold but it wasnt tht cold we were warm enough in coat and gloves, we went early december. it was quiet until thursday and the only long que was to see sants. infact we preferred this time of year to out of season (sept)
i found its cheaper booking sep, hotel direct (includes tickers) then use tesco vouchers for eurostarWins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -
hiya we have just got back from a 3 day stay at sequoia lodge and thought that it was amazing. the hotel was loverly and when we arrived at 11am we were checked straight in and met pluto at checkin. (arnt meant to check in untill 3pm)
we ate at hunters grill the second night and thought that the food there was far better than anywhere in the parks and the staff were really helpful with any of our requests.
we went swimming on the 2nd day and as the pool is open untill 10pm you can go for an hour after you get back from your days on the park.
the lodge was within walking distance of the parks but we caught the bus a few days due to my 5yr old brother being alittle tired.
the park wasnt as busy as we thought but still had to wait just over an hour for the adult rides and just under an hour for the kids rides.( but it was half term)
i would advise getting up and into the park for 8am to make the most of the rides that are open early. we managed to do 4 kids rides in 1 hour during this time of the day.
the only down side was that we drove and although we got there early the 7hr trek by car and ferry made us all quite tired for the first day. i would advise staying 3 nights to get everything done.
walking round the park i didnt see as many characters as i expected. we que'd to have a pic with mickey near a car and managed to see minnie goofey and pluto but didnt see many others around which might of been down to the damp weather.
overall had a good trip and am now happy to answer any questions which may help people going soon.
ps our park tickets were hole punched every time we entered the park but not te studios. we had 3 or 4 different holes.
and they do search bags but wernt bothered about the crisps or chocs we took in with us.0 -

You must just have really bad timing:(, we saw loads this week. Got pics of the kids with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale, Donald, Pooh Bear, Tigger, Eeyor?!, all the princess/princes and a few others too.
It's worth checking the guide for appearance times and try asking the staff too. The Princess' weren't in the guide but were on the stage in front of the castle for around 3 hours. We found it much easier going to the organised sessions rather than joining the scrum when the characters are just walking round, although it was really funny when Chip stole my DD's hat and ran off. She didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
Just checked our tickets and ours have little holes in them (one for each day). Must be something the machines do. We did get our hands stamped when we left the park but no-one checked when we came back in, we just put our tickets in the machine as normal.0 -
my dd loved chip and dale they kept trying to put her coat on, playing with her hair and fighting, they wre hysterical and spent ages with ddWins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0

I have not booke dthe accomodation in paris yet so I am still flexible....please help me0
