We've only just come back from DLP and Paris and we're skint! We stayed between Paris (20min metro) and DLP(10 min on metro).

We stayed at a campsite & We had to pay 5 euro each every day to get to the metro (metro was reasonably priced if you buy a paris visite pass or a carte orange). Make sure that wherever you choose to stay you are within walking distance of a metro station, we were also a family of 6 and the 5 euros soon added up. The metro passes allow travel all over Paris and surrounding areas on the metro and busses so you can get almost anywhere.

We found the queues to be about 1-2 hours roughly, I recommend getting a fast pass ticket (free)which will give you a time to return allowing you to enjoy other activities in the meantime. I would also recommend packed lunches and the hypermarket at val d'europe.

We found easyjet flights for £50 each including taxes and then looked for accommodation to fit the dates.

We bought some of our tickets in advance online using "attractiontix", which were slightly cheaper, there are also lots of them on ebay( with obvious risks though I've never had any problems there).

Jenkelly, the kids will go free during Feb if you go with a tour operator so have a look into this as if you want to travel at this time you may find it cheaper. You can download the brochure from the disneylandparis.com website (links on the left) and it'll give you more information. Don't forget you are going to have to pay for your transportation from the airport as well.

Choosing the Santa Fe and travelling with Cresta, I have assumed you are flying from Liverpool as I was not sure and choosing the Kyriad as it has a free shuttle bus and breakfast it comes out at £848.60. You can add tickets but you might want to compare what you can get. With a tour operator you would save with the shuttle buses, breakfast (which you can swap for a Fantasyland breakfast) and the airport transfers. I have to do my kids some dinner but I'll be back short;y to see if I can find any better deals.

    Or....

Booked with Disney website - My Travel Explorers Hotel (Again free shuttle to park) with breakfast and passes for £710.

Was note sure where you was flying from but Manchester via Air France with Transfer included plus the above hotel and your tickets is £1434. Not as good as your price but I am not sure what difference the costs of transfers and transportation/breakfast would amount to for each day.

You can get cheaper hotels but I chose the Explorer because of the room to take 6 people.

Discodee - when we last went to DLP it was before I had even found MSE and there were all these signs around the restarurant saying 'Food is for hotel dining only'. Well, Dur, what else. Now I know why! All you older mSE'rs have been in on this for a while then.

And LOL about your story about that hat and plush Minnie! What a result!!

    Hi Everyone,
I was wondering whether anybody could help me in making some decisions about a holiday in Disneyland Paris in April 2008.

We want to make the holiday a memorable one (for the right reasons !).The reason we have decided to do this is that my mother-in-law sadly died earlier this year and left us some money. We want to use part of this money on a holiday to Disneyland Paris for our 2 boys (will be aged 10 and 7) to 'remember' Nanny Olive by.

I have spent a lot of time reading about the best time to go and I believe for us it will be next April (probably week beginning 15th April). There will be 6 of us in total - 4 adults and 2 kids (my parents will be also be coming with us).

We would like to take our car and stay in France for a week and Disneyland Paris for 2nights/3days.

My thoughts are at the moment that we will go through the Channel Tunnel, book a cottage with indoor pool (kids love swimming) in the Pas-De-Calais region with FrenchLife (therefore enabling us to use Tesco Clubcard vouchers), and then book a Disney Hotel for the Monday-Wednesday for that week.

I am currently looking at booking Castle Club rooms at the Disneyland Hotel for these 2 nights. I realise this is incredibly expensive and this will take up most of the budget we are working to but I suppose one of my questions is - is it worth it or are there better options? (Other suites at other hotels?)
My main reason for considering this is that you receive the VIP Fastpass (able to use any fastpass queue at anytime) and also that it is at the gates of the park (As we have my parents with us we want to cut out the walking as much as possible and also it would be good to be able to 'pop' back to the hotel during the day)

I am also trying to find a travel agent or website (through quidco?) where I can get a discount or early booking offer - not many seem to offer the accommodation only and/or castle club rooms as an option.

I would consider booking somewhere other than FrenchLife so if anyone knows a reasonably priced cottage with use of an indoor swimming pool that they could recommend then please let me know !! (It would have to be somewhere on the Calais to Paris route - or not too far off!) I know that Siblu is an option with a campsite near Disneyland - but my husband doesn't fancy camping/mobile home in April.

Thank you all for your help.

THANK YOU TO ALL WHO TAKE TIME TO POST COMPETITIONS

We went to Disneyland Paris about 18 months ago and stayed at the Newport Bay Hotel as we needed a room to sleep 2 adults and 3 children. It was a lovely hotel, not too far from the park and there were free buses and a land train that took you from the Hotel to the park. We got Fast Passes, I think you get them at several of the Disney Hotels.

When I booked I spent ages looking for the best deal but in fact the cheapest was to go through Disney themselves.

To be honest if I was you I would book the disney bit separatley to the other part of your holiday. You can book the disney hotels, including entrance to the parks on their own, not including the travel.

We're going back in October this year but are doing it in a much more budget way and are taking our caravan and camping at a campsite near to Disney. The whole weeks holiday, including park entry, is costing less than half the cost of when we went for 3 days last year. But it was special and for our children it was the only time they've ever stayed in a hotel.

We are coming across on the Norfolk line ferry route from Dover to Dunkerque as that worked out a lot cheaper than Dover - Calais.

Good luck I hope you have a great time.

    Hi all,

We are going to book to go to disneyland paris in November and fly there with Flybe.

Can anyone tell me the best way to get from CDG airport in paris to disney land? We will be arriving at 8.30 at night and will have 2 smallish children with us so obviously want to get there as quick as possible. I'm thinking the train is the way to go but how often do they leave the airport and roughly how much will it cost??

    many thanks

    Kel
