I'm sure this is covered elsewhere, but...

What's the difference between half board and half board plus options?! Apart from one being slightly dearer? Is it something to do with the hotel you're staying in? Can you use them elsewhere?

Thanks guys - this thread's been fab, found loads of stuff without having to post for it.

The difference is the choice of restaurants you can use them in. See HERE

We have booked cheap Ryanair flights for a short trip to Disneyland Paris in April and will hire a car. We are looking for a hotel for 2 adults and 2 kids near to Disney but not necessarily a Disney hotel. Has anyone stayed at the Golf Hotel at Marne la Vallee? It seems to have good reviews and is nowhere near as expensive as the Disney hotels.

We've been a few times before so know the area and the distance won't be a problem.

I was looking at doing this but for us once we added the two day 2 park hopper tickets on it was actually cheaper to stay in the Santa Fe Disney Hotel as that including the park tickets.

True as you get park tickets aswell for the price of the disney hotel and for 2 days in the park it can cost about £76 each plus youve got petrol to the park and back. We stayed in a hotel at Marne la vallee and found by the time we left dd was too irritable and tired for the half hour journey back to the hotel, also meant leaving earlier in the morning. Its also by the RER so its very noisy at nights over there it kept us awake every night of our stay.

dont forget you get the added bonus of EMH (2 hours extra to ride on rides ), characters in your hotel, half board options etc if you stay in a disney hotel

Thanks for the responses so far. We've got annual passes to the Disneyland parks so don't need anything with park access included. We liked the Santa Fe when we stayed there before, but it was still coming in at over £400 for the 2 nights without the park access :-(

Anyone been to the Golf Hotel, or any of the other nearby budget hotels?

Dont you get a discount on hotels if youve got an annual pass?
