  • thanks for getting back to m8 m8 the kids are only youngest will be nearly 2 then i have my oldest son who is 6 and my daughter is 7 this was for 5 nights? is it a good deal:beer:

Staying 13th Sept for 5 nights booking direct with Disney at the santa fe is £756, (they are doing one of the days as an extra free day) cannot do a search yet on Eurostar as its too early they only do bookings for August, but going by June Sunday 14th for 5 days comes out at £284 for all 5 of you. 6 days is a lot to spend there and be warned you will need a lot of spending money lol.

Just a thought I know you said travel agent had given you a quote including your flights, did this include transfer from CDG airport to Disneyland? flights with Easyjet on the same date I looked at for Eurostar is £340 but then you still have the transfer from airport costs. I am not sure on the meal deluxe prices as I have never booked this as we dont go for that many days and just buy our meals as we go.

Leisure direction and Igloo do quite competative rates for packages

Im concerned as disney reservations are insistent you cant pay in advance only book a table. Maybe shes charged you a booking fee for booking the table? Whatever shes charged you for it wont be the meal apparently. Maybe half board vouchers?

well its a pretty large booking fee at £64 !!

oh well, i'll find out next week !!
Please take the time to have a look around my Daughter's website www.daisypalmertrust.co.uk

if you let me know cos if it is the meals my sister is really interested I just dont see how an agent can pay for something that even disneyland says is impossible.
Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.

got back last night. wish i was there. absolutly brilliant, and on a more manageable scale than orlando was.

ref those who asked me for how i found the TGv it was really good and would recommend it, literally the next stop and only 11 minutes. one thing i would say is to check the terminal you are flying out of on the way back and if its not the terminal that the tgv is based in, make sure you leave pleanty of time as CDG has to be one of the worst airports i have been to (and beleive me flown to pleanty, newark, orlando, sydney, darwin, dubai, brunei, palma, etc) its spralling and you walk ages. Luckily we bought changable tickets so switched from the 6.30pm train to the 5.30 train (for an 8.55pm flight) and so glad we did, as we didnt have long to wait at the gate for the plane, only had 40 mins at gate before they started bording by the time we got from the tgv terminal (2 if i remember right) to the terminal we were flying from (via the airports shuttle train things) plus going through check in, security etc

thankfully it only cost us an extra 1.50 euro each to change the ticket at the station which was the difference in price between the one we were booked on and the one we wanted instead

dlp was incredible, but make sure you take pleanty of money for food, as its certainly not cheap

    just a coupple tips
    1. The shop in the train station (just opposite the bus stops on way into parks etc) has a very good little shop for sweets, drinks, biscuits etc, we got a couple of 2 litre bottles of water and pop for the room and kept topping up.
    2. if you buy hot drinks before 3pm, most of the little coffee shops give a voucher for a free drink between 3pm and 7pm (hot choc, cappuciono etc are averaging at 2.50e to 4 euros each
3.plan where you are eating if you can and budget accordingly as it is so easy to run out of money there! luckily we are 2 adults, god knows how families can afford it! even for 2 adults may consider the half board options next time as at least thats planned for

we ate at the following : walts (was lovely food, cant fault it, had the 2 course meal for 29 euros each i think, plus drinks were extra) 3 course was aprox 39 euro, only negative was not much vegi options
annettes- their meals were huge and the skating waiters a bit of a novelty
mr toads - glorified maccy ds food, ok as a novelty but nothing to write home about
santa fe la cantina -evening meal - tex mex buffet, definatly worth the 19 euros eat all you can (drinks arent included in the price) well cooked food, and well laid out, but get in early - as it is a scrum after, they served from 6.00 - 10.30
resturant agrabahh - another buffet, all you can eat, relly nice food, british buffets could learn a thing or two from the buffets
au challet du marrionette - like toad hall, fast food type place, very similar to mr toads
rainforest cafe -usual set up, same as others in the chain, imo better quality food than in the london branch, pleanty of choice, especially for vegi's

we did contemplate eating at blue lagoon, but decided against it when we saw fish and chips was 47 euro and their surf and turf was 67 euros!!!! thats just the one course!

one other money making scheme from dlp is typical of parks, the ride photos, we succomed to a couple, (space mountain and the hotel) which worked out at 10 euros each time for each of us (as 2 copies of the same pic is 20 euros) the professional photos with characters are about the same

also any one who wants pics with characters, if you are at a dlp hotel, have a look at the times they are in the hotel, as its a lot easier than in the parks, as the characters were mobbed, and there is no sense of the meaning of quees etc, some parents were almost throwing their kids at the characters!

we watched the parade twice, was lovely (the band stand is a great veiwing spot btw!) absolutly loved it, also saw the mickey and minnies winter wonderland ice show, 30 mis long and truly sweet. we also saw animagic (twice lol, we were like a pair of kids) from both the front and the back of the auditorrium and had great veiws each time. cinemagic was good to, more for adults though as i doubt there was a lot of the films that the kids would know

candellebration was truly magical,(though am convinced they only lit 14 candles not 15)

would really recommend the cars motors action at the studios, and the tram tour, they were both good, as was the the hotel ride

santa fe was not a bad hotel, rooms were basic, but all we needed, was clean and had 2 double beds in them, enough room to store luggage etc, and a decent sized bathroom (towells are tiny though!). their breakfast was good too, fruit salads, cereals, toasts, breads, croissants etc, and free coffe (nescafe) milk, juice etc

get in early for breakfast though as its a bit of a scrum, we had breakkie at 7.00 on 2 days and 7.30 for 3 days, work out before you go what times you would prefer as they ask at check in and give you tokens for each day there and then. (so check the official site for opening hours and emh etc)

the busses are dangerous as hell, especially after the parades, candellebration etc and for the start of the park opening, its a cram as many in as possible job, and litterly jamming people against the doors etc. not to mention the pushing and shoving, a couple times we were at the bus collection point first and ended up last getting on if we could at all!

we ended up choosing to walk really nice little walk, and looks like can walk from all the hotels, only 10-15 mins for us from santa fe (walkway is to the rear of the hotel complex and takes you along the river to the back of the disney village) and we were not walking fast, and the last morning we had a bit of snow and was really pretty

if anyone has any questions feel free to ask

  • Great to see you had a good time, we are going next weekend by Eurostar and staying at the Santa Fe, and are so looking forward to it, have not been in 3 years and know there is much more added to before ie Cars Buzz Crush etc, we always did the walk to the park instead of trying to scrum for the bus, like you said its a nice walk and tbh whats another 10 mins on your feet when you are on them all day anyway lol. Did you book any restaurants before you went? we have Buffalo Bills booked for Sat night, was you cold? I have brought snow boots, ski suit for my 4yr old and hats and gloves all round.

we booked buff bills before we went really enjoyed that (dont do what some people did, and leave as soon as it finished as at the very end they gave the kids lolly pops as well) food was better than the reveiws i had read we had the top price tickets and was well worth it. ended up leaving the hat they give at the hotel as couldnt pack it

as for the other resturants, the we reserved walts in the morning that we wanted to eat in there and were fine (but we tended to go in either before the rush (ie 11.30 ish for lunch,) or afterwards ie 2ish for lunch etc

yeah it was very cold when we went luckily we wrapped up, (wearing leggings under trousers, thick socks, hiking/walking boots, t-shirt, jumper jacket etc, we looked like michelin men lol but glad of it, as even with that we still got a bit cold now and then

would really recommend the thermals for the kids as on the coldest days saw some poor things getting miserable because of the cold. and leggings under your trousers as that was a godsend for us!

  • Thanks for the reply, we have thermals, both mine and my OH job involves having to wear them so we have plenty of stock, will probably wear two pairs of long johns and vests, as both of us are used to working in the cold it will probably be ok, little man has a new proper ski suit and I will put a couple of layers underneath that, brought snow boots all round, and I have just won myself a lovely oneil furry pink hat with pom poms lol on ebay lol. I was worried about the food at BBWWS as some people say its a bit bland, how many drinks did you get included with your meal there? What time is the Candelbration parade? think thats all I need to know right now oh no its not lol, where abouts did you get the best rate for Euro and what was it?

hi, the buff bills food was not so bad at all, imo, they started with bread/tortilla chips with chilli, then was various meats in a skillett with potatoes and veg, then they did an apple crumble with icecreame, then coffee and mini muffins, then they came round with a chocolate coin for the adults and a lolly for the kids. the drinks in the pre show area have to be bought if you want one but when you get into the main area they kept topping them up, they asked initially if you wanted pop or beer i think and through the show the servers just kept topping them up, so we were almost never without a drink

candelbration is the lighting of the castle of the evening not a parade, it was 7pm in the week (apparently 8pm weekends) and mickey and minnie are on the castle and the lights get switched on to music, lasts around 10/15 mins i guess. the parade at the moment is the once upon a dream parade which was on at disneyland at 4pm

as for the exchange rate, cant remember what i got as i bought it in batches a few months ago, £100 here and there, out of each pay cheque to spread the cost, but i know i always went to either marks and spencers or the post office, as they were always the best in birmingham at the time when i checked them all

take at look at this for the timings of the show, parades, parks, character meet and greets etc from disney themselves, http://news.disneylandparis.co.uk/UK/EN/Neutral/Images/ShowsAndParades.pdf
