    Hi

I have just booked 3 nights at the hotel new york for myself and 2dd. I have now read some really bad reveiws on tripadvisor and was wondering if anyone can let me know what the New York is really like?

I am thinking of calling them and upgrading to the Disneyland Hotel - What do you think?

    Thanks in advance

I can't say I have read any reviews but I have stayed at the New York and I thought it was great. The rooms are pretty big, the atmosphere is just as you would imagine in any of the Disney hotels and at least you get your tea and coffee served at your table at breakfast. I have stayed in the Disneyland too and I would say that it's only advantage is it's proximity to the park, but I actually enjoy the walk back through Festival Disney (oops, Disney Village). My favourite is the Newport Bay but OH prefers the New York. He preferred the food, big steaks, I'm veggie so not high on my priority list!

They have room service at the New York, I don't know if it's on all floors (dlp website will say something I'm sure) we had breakfast in our room on the last morning, it was lovely to be away from the crowds just for once.

Perhaps I should whisper this.... honestly I prefer every other hotel to the Disneyland, for me it's a bit posh and I feel I have to be on my best behaviour all the time.
If anything I say starts to make sense, PANIC!

Re the RER, this is a fairly direct train from Charles de Gaulle airport, I think you only change once and they are the fast ones. The train stops right at the entrace to the park and may be the cheapest option of getting there. YOu have to find a map of the underground and the RER. The RER A is the one you want if I remember correctly. Haveing done it a number of times when living in Paris.

We went to Disney last week and didnt stay the night just went for the day and you are not allowed to take food into the park although I did staysh some at the bottom of my bag, but still ended up paying about £30 for food for the rest of the day. BUT it did make my childrens day when we had lunch at Pizza planet the delight on their faces was worth every penny.
    Enjoy.

We got one ticket free when travelling on P&O ferries by the way

we stayed in that one a few weeks ago and didn't see anything wrong with it. ok maybe it could do with being tarted up a bit (the wallpaper etc was a little dated and shabby) but the room was massive, comfy bed, breakfast was fine, good choice of bread, ham cheese etc as well as some hot(ish) stuff like bacon & eggs.

didn't have any evening meal or go to the bar there so can't comment on that.

we thought it was pretty close to the parks, 5-10 min walk.

    Pressed thanks instead of quote!

I've stayed at New York, it is fantastic in my opinion, I have stayed in Cheyenne and Davy Crockett also, I think they're all brilliant, New York is quite posh, even having breakfast is great because it's all so nice.

You haven't said when you are going but if it's in the cold months they have an ice skating rink outside which is good, you are also quite close to the parks so no need to get the little bus.

I would say don't alter your booking, you will enjoy it.

I have read through this thread 'til I am blue in the face. We are off to DLP on the 11th Dec for 4 nights staying at the Cheyenne. Flying into CDG. Need to get from there to Hotel, and back. Travelling with 11year old (this is a treat after doing the 11 plus exam). What is the easiest, cheapest, best way to get to hotel? Many thanks TrishaM

I never seen it in DLP but I think they sold something similar in the shop in the train station which is literally 2 mins outside the gates of DLP

Thats great thanks, DS doesn't have fizzy drinks and drinks like a fish so I'd rather not have to buy drinks every 5 minutes
We have 4 weeks 6 days to go :j :j
Hope you have a nice time next week and the weather is much better than over here for you :D
