The transfer from the airport to dlp only takes hours if there is a hold up, it's less than an hour in normal traffic. The shuttle takes you straight to the disney hotels.
Character meet and greets are not a rugby scrum, they are organised, with cast members helping the characters to keep order. The only time I would say it is anything like a scrum is after the parades when some of the characters may stop and engage people.
There are nearly always fireworks now, year round, although that can't be guaranteed.
The Walt Disney Studios is on the same ticket as the main theme park at dlp, no need to get another ticket, you can move freely from park to park. AND the studios now has the tower of terror and a couple of other rides as well as cinemagique, animagique and all the other stuff it always had. It did lack some atmosphere in the early days but I reckon it's great now.
In the summer the parks are open until very late into the evening, in July/August it can be 11 p.m., although Fantasyland closes earlier than the other lands to allow for the fireworks display to be set up. The Studios has shorter hours.
the lands closed @ 10pm when i was there last week
in time for the parade at 10.20pm
the studios closed @ 7pm
there are only fireworks in the summer,NYE and bonfire0 -
We are going to France at the end of August and were thinking of adding a day onto our trip to visit Disney. Can't really afford to stay on site and we are looking for a basic hotel with family rooms somewhere close by ish. (2 adults, 3 kids 9,5 and 1) Willing to travel in on metro.
Any suggestions?
we stayed here last week: http://www.frenchlife.co.uk/uce/fl?action=readParentDetails&cottageParentId=387732&startdate=&duration=&sleeps=6&propertyTypeId=3
a 7 min drive from disney! or one train stop away ( cost 4.50euros for 2 ad 2 ch ,one way) also there is a shuttle to and from disney from the hotel
we had an apartment sleeping 6,it was very comfy and clean and fine for what we wanted / needed.we would definitely stay there again.
i have put some pics on photobucket :http://s527.photobucket.com/albums/cc355/rach109_photo/France%20accom/
( its the later pics not the first lot, thats center parcs!)0 -

I did read if you hire one you cannot take it between parks, so this may be costly over 4 days in the parks. is this still the case? Also is there a special place to leave pushchairs outside rides? Is it safe? should i take a padlock? I'm not going to leave anything of value on the back.
We have been 3 times before but this is the first time with our child, We are driving to EuroDisney. - -so space in car not really an issue.
Thanks,
we hired one for our very tired 6 yr old ! :rotfl: last wk
we could take it betwen the parks if you leave a deposit of 70euros,which you get back upon return of buggy
everyone leaves their own buggies outside the rides etc,i am sure its very safe, although some do padlock them i think this is unnecessary

Actually what was the deal with the buggys?
We noticed lots and lots of parents pushing around 7,8,9 & 10 year old children in oversized pushchairs (clearly on hire) and these were not disabled children, just kids who clearly could not be bothered to walk with parents who seemed to think this was OK
No wonder we have a problem with overweight kids if we are going to push them around rather than let them walk.

if you go on disneylands website theres a calendar with park opening hours, it closes 7pm with the odd 10pm closing time.Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0

has anybody been at halloween...we aren't going to the park in the day but we are buying the tickets £20 each for the night-time halloween party in the park...Has anybody been and can tell me what it's like and are the rides open..the CS lady said they have a disco on main street and a parade etc
Thanks
How exciting! I booked a family on a halloween break not so long ago, the park will be open until 1-2 in the morning and (weather permitting) everything will be open. There will be a DJ and a party on Main Street and a special spooky parade. I'm jealous! I dare'nt tell my kids Disney do such a thing!0 -

11 pm park closing time isnt late compared to wdw which sometimes is open until 1/2 in the morning.
there are only fireworks on special evenings not every night.
the character meet and greets ARE a free for all, when the characters are out and about, its just a free for all, the hosts just stand back and let it happen.the offical greets are better organised were you q up to meet them but the characters on the streets are not.
as i said i went in 2006 and the studios didnt have any thing that appealed to me then, but now they have added alot to it.
dont get me wrong im a true disney fan, my house is full of disney, im known as uncle disney in my family, i have been to florida wdw a few times, and am just saying its not run with quiet the organisation as its american cousin.0 -

Thanks,
We went in Feb with our 4 yr old and 2 year old (he'll be 3 in Sept so was about 2 1/2). We only took the pushchair on the 2nd day out of 5 and actually found it much easier not having a pushchair so didn't take it after that. You spend a lot of time in queues or sitting watching things so it seemed like he was barely in the pushchair when we had it. If you can fit it in I'd take your own, you'll be able to find it more easily than a hired one. Most rides have a pushchair area, didn't see any with padlocks on.0 -
