    Hi

We are booking to go to Disney in January, flying with Easyjet and staying in a Disney hotel booking direct.

When we get to CDG airport do we get the train straight into Disney? How much is it? Can we buy tickets there and then or do we have to book them before we go?

    Any advice appreciated.

    Thanks

Sorry if this has been covered before (can't read through 60 pages, I tried, but now I've got a headache!:D )

We've been to Walt Disney World in Florida twice, and had an absolutely fantastic time, both trips. Since then however, we have found visiting other Theme parks a bit of a let-down.

Is it still worth the time and money, to visit Disneyland Paris? having priced it up it works out more expensive, on a pro-rata basis, than going to Florida!

    Would it be a let-down?

If anyone has been to both, I'd be glad for your opinion on this.
    Thanks.

It depends what you mean, when you book to go to Florida you only really think about flights and accommodation and then when you get there (or if organised you add it on here) you have to pay for all your entry tickets for the theme parks and all the transport. At dlp the price may seem higher but, if you book a disney hotel, it includes tickets and you can walk to the theme park, it also includes breakfast which isn't always the case in the states. PLUS I doubt you would stay at disney hotel in Florida, even the cheapest, the Allstar hotels, can be pretty expensive.

dlp is very different from disney world, obviously there is no epcot, but the basic ethos of disney doesn't vary. When you say visiting other theme parks I do know what you mean, even Universal can pale in comparison but I love disney parks, and I have visited all five (more than once, except the one in Hong Kong, only been there once). Don't go expecting to be the same, they are similar but different each in their own way. Florida is by far and away the biggest.

If I am truly honest Disneyland in Anaheim is my favourite, it's the original and best, and it just feels more like home somehow. Honestly though, I know dlp inside out and I love it and never bore/tire of it.

it wouldnt be alet down just a different experience of disney parks.
dlp is a great park, with fantastic detail and newer updated rides, and you can even go under the castle to see the dragons which yiou cant do in any other park, the park is siimialr laid out to wdw, main street off to the center then the lands come off of that, but then it all changes, the lands themselves are different. adventureland is completly different from wdw, but as good as. i didnt do studios as didnt feel at the time there was enough there to buy a different ticket so spent 3 days in disneyland.
the park cloese earlier that wdw, there werent any firworks display when we went (nov 2006), the parades are good though.
i would recommend it to get the disney fix every now and then, but you cant beat wdw,(especially customer service which seems to be lacking at Paris)
oh and the character meet and greets are a free for all, theres absolutley no queing if you see a character its like a rugby scrum! god knows why they cant sort that out, so if your child is a little timid its quiet frightning! thats the europeans i guess! good luk and have fun! we stayed at the holiday inn at dlp which was great, from airport we got the disney bus which went passed our hotel and dropped us off at the disney village we than had to change to another bus to go back to our hotel!! bizzarre!, on our out journey we went to the disney park and right outside the gates is the railway station we went direct to cdg airport in about 20 min first class( by mistake) then a t airport walked to the right terminal which was much quicker and next time we go we will go that way again! takes a few hours on the disney bus!

The transfer from the airport to dlp only takes hours if there is a hold up, it's less than an hour in normal traffic. The shuttle takes you straight to the disney hotels.

Character meet and greets are not a rugby scrum, they are organised, with cast members helping the characters to keep order. The only time I would say it is anything like a scrum is after the parades when some of the characters may stop and engage people.

There are nearly always fireworks now, year round, although that can't be guaranteed.

The Walt Disney Studios is on the same ticket as the main theme park at dlp, no need to get another ticket, you can move freely from park to park. AND the studios now has the tower of terror and a couple of other rides as well as cinemagique, animagique and all the other stuff it always had. It did lack some atmosphere in the early days but I reckon it's great now.

In the summer the parks are open until very late into the evening, in July/August it can be 11 p.m., although Fantasyland closes earlier than the other lands to allow for the fireworks display to be set up. The Studios has shorter hours.

the disney shopping service looks quite good as we ended up carrying loads around last time. does anyone know what hotels you have to be staying in for this service?
