  • the thing is, the free half board is just one of the range of discount offers DLP comes out with every year - if you booked at full price, presumably you did so being happy with the price you paid, for the deal you got?

As you have booked it all through a travel agent and not direct with Disney, your travel agent will need to be who you approach to see if you can change to the new offer with no/little penalties.

If you book your hotel etc though Disney direct, you can upgrade when new offers come along, with no problems, as long as you're not paying less under the new offer than the original amount you signed up for.

Have you done a dummy booking with the "free" half board offer included on the official Disney site, for your dates and your hotel, to see how much difference of a price you could have paid, over what you did pay?

OK, thanks - stupidly didn't think about checking with a dummy booking. The price difference is only about £30 ... so not worth bothering about. I guess the description of the half-board meal plan being "free" in my original post was correct :)

    Dining plans are never "free".

  • Hello - I wonder if someone could possibly help with two queries:

We are staying at the Dream Castle hotel and have booked the Eurostar to Disney (booked directly with Eurostar) - what is the cheapest/most convenient way of getting the luggage from the Eurostar directly to the hotel so we can go straight to the park and also get the luggage to the Eurostar in the morning we depart so we can spend the day at the park?

What is the best way of getting the children to interact with the characters without queing for ages at the Park? Is Cafe Mickey the only option? Can we order just one dish there or is a set menu the only option?

    Many thanks!!

Set menu only at cafe mickey for lunch and dinner now. I think breakfast is good value.

its usually, in order of low crowd levels -
May half term (as long as Ascension isn't in that week)
    Feb half term
April holidays (but not Easter weekend, and check for Parisien area schools holidays around the same time)
Summer (end of August is quieter than July/beginning of August)
    October half term
    Christmas/New Year.

if you want to go straight into the parks when you arrive, instead of to your hotel to check in first, you can leave your luggage at the locker room inside the train station at DLP (a huge locker big enough for 2 large cases and extras is only 10 euros, and there are smaller lockers available). You can collect your luggage later that day (the locker room is usually open until 10pm in the evening) then jump on the Dream Castle shuttle to your hotel.

The best way on your last day, is to use their Eurostar Disney express service. Tell your hotel reception you want to use this service, it costs 11 euros per room (not per person) and the hotel will take your luggage to the Eurostar disney express desk for you, and then you just collect it on your way to your Eurostar train for the journey home.
  • Hi , just to let you know as I often uses this site for reference , I have booked a deal direct through the Disneyland Paris site direct by phone , the offer was by 2 nights and get 2 nights free, I called them to change this today as I did a calculation using their site last night and it wasn't much more expensive to have half board with the 30per cent off and half board offer , even though it would have cost me more they also insisted that I would still have to pay a 15 per cent cancellation fee unless I changed my dates! Has this happened to anyone else? I thought you could change if a better offer came up as long as it cost more ?

yes you can - phone the French guest services number (in French office hours) if you get no joy from the UK booking number.
  • Thank you ballet shoes ! Worth a try tommorow then , I guess this is the telephone number on my booking confirmation? Although I'm not getting my hopes up , as what they told me today is what it says on the terms and conditions!
