    Hi!

I'm looking to book a 4 day stay in January with my husband and 2 small kids and I'm looking for some tips from anyone with experience.

Has anyone booked the Sequoia Lodge through Expedia before? Do you still get the Magic hours etc that you get when booking through the disney website?

Also, what about transfers? One travel agent told me its best to hurt wait for a bus outside the airport as they are regular and cheaper than other transfers. But another travel agent told me to pre-book transfers otherwise it will be really expensive!

Never booked anything for Disney through Expedia before, but yes you should do, so long as you're staying in a Disney hotel you'll get the extra magic hours whoever you book it with.

Yes if you're going to fly book transfers beforehand. I'm off to Disney for the 20 something time in a week and I've travelled there all sorts of ways before but I would highly recommend Eurostar over any mode of transport, especially with young children. It's SO much quicker, easier, and more enjoyable. Can get it pretty cheap as well if you book as soon as it becomes available.

Thanks! Are there are transfer companies that you would recommend or avoid? And do you usually book a package or book things separately?

for DLP I always book everything separately (so hotel and park tickets through Disney when they have a good discount offer on - you should be looking at at least 2 nights free on a 4-night stay and kids under 12 free for January stays). Then my travel is separate (eurostar, eurotunnel or flights, booked direct with the travel provider) and then transfers from the airport, booked in advance, and again direct with the transfer company. You shouldn't pay any more than around 120 euros round trip by private transfer (you can do this cheaper by shared transfer also).

Avoid the coach transfers altogether - they are among the slowest method of transfer between airport and DLP hotels nowadays.

    Hi,

I've got a few qs before we depart for Cheyenne:

Disney Express - how long is the check in process at Eurostar station at Disneyland?
Booking breakfasts - is there any way of doing this when using Disney Express apart from when you go back to the hotel in the evening? (Still undecided on Disney Express, only flown before!)

Even when I used Eurostar, I didn't pay for Disney Express for the outgoing journey, only the return one (you pay your hotel, that way its 11 euros per room, not per person). It doesn't matter what timeslots you get for breakfast at the Cheyenne so I wouldn't worry about that - get there before 7.30am or after 9am or don't bother (it will be stupidly busy between 7.30am and 9am).
Or are you talking about breakfast in the park instead of at your hotel? The only way you can do this is at your hotel reception, and its all subject to availability (its not on every day).

Are there any shows/events you can book in advance? Apart from Buffalo Bill, which we've already seen.no, for all the other shows at DLP you just queue up and go in (but the shows are much larger capacity compared to the rides, so you should only have to wait 5-10 minutes for the shows).

Thanks. I did want to know about breakfast in the hotel and park.

    Hey all.

I'm a complete newbie when it comes to Disneyland Paris...so go easy on me.

I'm looking for a 4 night stay, arriving on 5th July and departing 9th July 2015. I want to go outside of any school holidays.

It'll be for two adults and a child of 4 years old. One of the adults is registered disabled but is not in a wheelchair.

Where is the best and cheapest place to book and is it better to go by rail or to fly?

Wouldn't mind something with some meals included.

    Any advice greatly appreciated...thanks.

Hi, think might have left this late. Want to go within the next 2 weeks, could be anytime in the 2 weeks. 2 Adults 2 kids. Had a look at the Disney website and all the hotels are booked. Would prefer everything togeather, would prefer to travel by Eurostar. Any advice how I could get any lastminute packages.

    Thanks for the help.

You'd really need to go before 3rd July, as thats when the French school holidays (and high summer season at DLP) starts.

If you can get Eurostar at its cheapest price (ie £69 return per person) this would probably be the most convenient for you, as the Eurostar station at Disneyland Paris is literally at the gates of the parks. Book your train through Eurostar itself.

Don't pay for a meal plan at DLP, I see for certain dates over the summer period DLP have the offer of a % discount and free half board, so that might be worth looking at. 30% off and free half board is a decent discount offer.

you could get a travel agent to put together a package for you? it would be an offsite hotel though (there are lots of hotels near DLP). As its school holidays very soon, you won't get a decent price for travelling by Eurostar in the next 2 weeks I'm afrad.
  • Hi All,

We've booked a 4 night stay at DLP in early July 2015 through an Agent at the end of last year, staying at one of the Disney hotels. We also decided to take the Half Board meal plan.

However recent TV adverts show this is now been thrown in for "free" - this is annoying. The remainder of our holiday balance is due soon and, I checked the figures, based on the deposit we've already paid it doesn't make sense to cancel and rebook with the new offer.

Has this happened to anyone else? Is it worth asking for something to compensate for basically being penalised for booking early, e.g. such as a room upgrade, etc.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

the thing is, the free half board is just one of the range of discount offers DLP comes out with every year - if you booked at full price, presumably you did so being happy with the price you paid, for the deal you got?

As you have booked it all through a travel agent and not direct with Disney, your travel agent will need to be who you approach to see if you can change to the new offer with no/little penalties.

If you book your hotel etc though Disney direct, you can upgrade when new offers come along, with no problems, as long as you're not paying less under the new offer than the original amount you signed up for.

Have you done a dummy booking with the "free" half board offer included on the official Disney site, for your dates and your hotel, to see how much difference of a price you could have paid, over what you did pay?
