I like Restaurant des stars in the Studios, and Plaza Gardens in the main park, for full use of the standard vouchers. You also have Agrabah Cafe in the main park, which is a mediterranean/eastern themed restaurant. You also have Annettes Diner in the Village, and the buffets at the Cheyenne and Santa Fe hotels. If you're staying at either of those hotels, I'd say give them a go.

yes, you can use your vouchers at cash value in any of the participating DLP restaurants, including Cafe Mickey and Inventions.

from what i have read, i am dreading breakfast. especially seeing as we are going feb half term  will have to make sure we are there early.
if we decide not to have breakfast at santa fe, am i right in thinking we can eat somewhere else, but would have to pay. we wouldnt be able to have breakfast in a different hotel would we?**Waiting for a BIG win!**

thats right, you'd have to pay to eat breakfast at any other hotel, and there is no discount because you are staying onsite.
If you are going into the parks each morning for EMH, you'll have no problems going for breakfast first at the Santa Fe - the time between 7am when it opens and 7.45am is the quietest breakfast time of the day, at all the onsite hotels generally.
You might be able to get breakfast in the park - this is free, same standard breakfast as at your hotel, but it takes place in one restaurant in the main park. Disney choose which restaurant they will open for breakfast in the park, its not on every day, and its subject to availability. I always ask for this at my onsite hotel though, as I'm not a natural early riser so breakfast at 7am is really too early for me. I'd rather hit the park at 8am and do the open rides in EMH in the quietest hour of the park day, then have breakfast at 9.15 or 9.30 without having to go back to my hotel to do it. Ask when you check in if its available any morning of your stay. Unfortunately you can't book this in advance, you have to wait until you check in.

Hi there, I'll be going next week with half board plus vouchers for 2 of us. Does anyone know if they can be used as face value towards the bill in the cheaper restaurants rather than using 2 vouchers for 2 people? Hope that makes sense! Thanks very much in advance0

i can't see why not - as long as they are participating table and buffet service restaurants (you can't use them in counter service places).0
