I didnt say I am not happy. Its a big unexpected expense for a small business. Should I be jumping with joy. Cest la vie0

I would still try to get a second opinion before you do anything. I'm sure you will be able to find a mobile car electrical engineer willing to give you a price.
Good luck!Andyfr0 -
Is it usual for ex-rental vans to have done fewer than 4k miles a year?0

OP, as others have said you bought from an auction so there is no come back at all, sold as seen im afraid.
£600 for labour on en ECU seems a little high, have you rang round a few garages to get a lower quote? or a second hand ecu that can be fitted and re-programmed by an auto technician/diagnostics garage?Plan: [STRIKE]Finish off paying the remainder of my debts[/STRIKE].
[STRIKE]Save up for that rainy day[/STRIKE].
Start enjoying a stress debt free life.....now enjoying. thanks to all on MSE0 -
You could get the existing ecu repaired perhaps more cheaply? Try BBA Reman.

It is most likely the output transistors need repalcing. Be sure to change the coil packs too otherwise you might blow your new/repaired ecu.0
