Van bought in auction on a credit card

Hi
I hope this is the correct forum for my question.
I recently bought a small van at Bca auction. It was 4 years old ex enterprise rental with only 15k on the clock. I have now come across a major fault as the ecu has failed. A specialist electrical garage has quoted 650 for parts and a other 600 for labour. I paid for it on my credit card. Do I have any rights under Section 75. Any advice would be appreciated.
Alternatively do you think renault shoukd be liable for part of the cost

Apparently it needs to be programmed as well. I am a small business and this is a massive cost for me

Was the van sold with any kind of warranty at the auction? If, as I suspect, not then unfortunately you are on your own.

No auctions are generally sold as seen but this was not the kind of fault that could have been seen

If you had owned the van from new, had it serviced at the main dealers then Renault may have given a goodwill gesture of a % of the total cost. Buying from an auction is a gamble and I'm afraid in this case it hasn't paid off for you.

Take it to a different garage to get another quote.

So you want the bottom price but with all the added extras?......typical of the British public today.

See if you could get a mobile mechanic to come and have a look at it.

Its not about the bottom price, auction you have a big choice, its where the dealers buy from no one can forsee such a fault certinley not on such a low mileage van.
