Van bought in auction on a credit card

Of course it's about price. You took the risk, it's cost you a bit more than expected but you're still probably ahead financially. Not the end of the world, be a man and stand by your decision0

French motor manufacturers aren't noted for longevity with their electrical components.Andyfr0

Absolutely, I am just on here to see if I had options, evidently I don't. Thanks for the advice0

Its not about the bottom price, auction you have a big choice, its where the dealers buy from no one can forsee such a fault certinley not on such a low mileage van.
But dealers work on the basis that if you buy 20 and 1 is a lemon then you can absorb the cost and, in any case, usually get a cheaper fix.
This is the risk that the private punter takes. They get the 1 lemon and it is 100% of their outlay not 5%.0 -
It was bought on a personal credit card not my business one0

So how much did you actually pay for the van, and how does that compare with the price a dealer would have wanted for the same van?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Motor auctions are classed as business sales anyway so the majority of consumer legislation doesn't apply.verybigchris wrote: »If you used a business credit card, there's no S75 protection.

Paid 2950 + fees so around 3400. I guess a dealer would charge around 5500. I appreciate that i may still be quids in but its still a big unexpected expense0
