Okay the ads are back on Facebook. This time using Holly Willowby from This Morning, as why she looks so good. In fact it states the ad is from The Express Newspaper.

I am expecting more sheep getting sucked in.
  • Someone told me years ago that if ANY company wants your financial details for a 'free' sample or trial then warning bells should be ringing.

Good luck anyone trying to get their money back and well done to those who have reported and sent out warnings, it is a nasty practice that has been going on much too long.

There's a thread I posted in Campaigns Corner, entitled Subscription traps/CPAs - CAB is conducting a survey

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5295057

Not sure if the link will work and go straight to the thread in question.

The survey is completely anonymous, if anybody who has unwittingly fallen for one of these scams would like to contribute to CAB's research.

    Thanks.

EDIT: Just checked the link, it works fine.
  • Hi
I have been trying to cancel my 'free trial' - all the telephone numbers not working. Can you please advise the names of the companies that appeared on your account (debit card/credit card)? I have been in touch with my bank, but also need to contact my credit card company. I rang immediately after I had ordered my free trial to cancel, but was advised I couldn't. What a rip off. Hope someone can help
  • Unfortunately my wife did not see your warning before falling for the same scam. Monies have been taken from her credit card and bank account without agreement or consent. None of the free-phone numbers provided by the company actually work; they can't be contacted by phone and don't answer e-mails via their webform.

In short, these are scam merchants of the worst kind; their practices breach trading standards in a number of ways and their one director is also a director of at least one of the associated distributors, which collects payments. I'm about to report the company to trading standards and for fraud; also their director because of her unfit conduct.

    Are you sure?
I mead the 'without agreement or consent' bit.
  • I ordered this on 03/09/16 to see if my SO would notice the effects? It was shipped on 4th, and arrived today (7th). When my SO saw what it was, he said "Well done - you've been scammed!"!! I've since read more about it....! I rang the number stated on MSE for customer services, but the young woman said she has no records of me! I now have to ship the produce (unused and unopened), and write a letter to the bank......!
  • Today I found out that I had been fooled by this company and contacted my bank who are investigating. I found a free phone number and rang them the person I spoke to was rude and said it was all my fault I said that I believed I had taken up a free offer and did not know about anything at all that they were 2 weeks later going to take £89.95 from my account unauthorised. It is a scam they set up a reoccurring demand for £89.95 a month. Please get this company banned. The name on my bank statement is TRUEBEAUTYAID.COM
