How are your pets handling the heat today?

Cat spends a lot of time lying on the patio in the shade. She has plenty of shady spots to choose from and lots of bowls of water around the house and garden. She'll come in the house if she gets too hot.
Chickens are doing well, they have a litter tray filled with water which they like to paddle around in. They are ultra mega shaded and at the weekend we put an extra shady covering on the outside of the run where it gets hottest. It's actually cooler in their run than I thought it would beI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. Not obvious enough for some people from what I've seen over the years!Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0 -
My smaller, fluffy cat seems to be coping very well and still wants to come on my lap for cuddles. The bigger boy is not liking the heat, keeps flumping down with a sigh and looking at me reproachfully. I've ordered a cooling mat which should arrive tomorrow - fingers crossed!0

I had half day holiday from work today and got home early afternoon to find both of my elderly cats on my bed. My bedroom doesn't get the sun so is often one of the coolest places in the house.
I had to go out mid afternoon and came home 2 hours later to find them both asleep under a bush in the back garden. One cat is now flaked out on the living room floor finding the heat too much and her sister has gone back on the bed!Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

This is interesting, my 10 year old terrier-type mongrel hasn't had any problems with the heat at all. She has been loving lying in the garden or in the shade under a tree. My main worry was whether the advertised t-storms would come at a time to disrupt her regular walks as she flatly refuses to we/soil in our garden and is terrier-fied of thunderstorms! Thankfully, we had none of the storms we were expecting yesterday.“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”

yesterday in the worst of the heat my cat was outside for about 5 minutes, then gave up, came inside, and flopped down on the laminate flooring. There he stayed most of the evening!0

Kitty (currently a house kitty) has taken to snoozing under beds instead in his cat tree or on the beds. He's also not been on our laps the last few evenings, instead sitting on the back of the sofa between us, with a paw on one of our shoulders.0

My cat must be odd then, she has spent the last 3 days as per usual in the conservatory lolling around in a sleepy heat coma.
It was 96 in there the other day.... She has always loved heat though.
Yesterday she did go upstairs for a short while to lol about in the cooler bedroom in the middle of the day.
She is in there now and it's 90.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -
Little fluff has been just as bouncy as always, but I've not been home at peak heat to see how he's coping. I think he's been sneaking into one of the wardrobes when the heat gets too much as I've come back a few times to find the door slightly ajar, but otherwise he's still a very talkative, active little cat.0

I've come to the conclusion that my Degu is incapable of feeling the heat. I know that they come from a hot, arid part of South America, so I suppose that's not surprising.
Some days over the past week, I have been literally melting, and he with his thick coat of fur is still running around and using his running wheel. And when he stops and jumps on my lap, his feet (which radiate body heat) are still cool.
Do I envy him? Possibly.0
