A couple more UU to report:-
- Neal's Yard frankincense hydrating cream 25ml. This was a freebie on the cover of a magazine some years ago and judging by the date stamp on it, should have been UU years ago. I didn't like to use on my face given how old so used as a body lotion before bed instead. No need to buy face cream for a while, have a few newer unopened ones to try first.
2chic Brazilian Keratin and Argan Oil Ultra Sleek Conditioner. WMBA - this is ok but I think I am still on the search for my HG when it comes to hair. To be honest the best thing I find for it is going away to places with soft water - it frizzes less and my scalp seems happier too. As I am not leaving London anytime I soon, the hunt continues.
One TA - barefoot SOS dry scalp treatment shampoo. It doesn't treat my dry scalp and it leaves my hair in knots, it's dreadful. I really don't like chucking things out when I don't like them, but it's really silly to keep this given the mess it makes of my hair.
One in - not feeling bad about this as I only have a little bit of conditioner left (lots of shampoo as I always seem to use more conditioner, which I suspect is a sign none of the conditioners are rich enough!)
Jason restorative biotin conditioner - recommended to me at the local health food shop. Reviews on make up alley are mixed, but some people with similar sounding hair to me seem to have had success with it so fingers crossed.0 -
Two small ins, Aldi Lacura facial wipes, pink packet, I had to hunt for these as per usual, they always outsell the others.
Also from the reduced shelves, a 50ml Aldi Carino Argan Oil hair treatment. My Avon similar treatment is getting low, I bought a bottle of the Aldi one the other week for the princely sum of £1.79. As it was a Specialbuy goodness knows if they will ever have it in again so I felt justified in buying a second bottle when I discovered that it was absolutely brilliant.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... Hi all!
Still on a bit of a roll here.
OUTs
18. UU Molton Brown Eucalyptus Body Wash - travel size. Came in a LF beauty box. WNB. Not my type of fragrance
19. UU Naked Sensitive Scalp Conditioner. WDNBA. So glad to get rid of this. DId nothing for my hair.
20. GA St Tropez In Shower Tan 50 ml from YBD beauty box.
21. GA Random lipbalm from Pink Parcel
22. GA Xen-Tan Shimmer gel sample size from a beauty box
23-26. GA Perfume sample vials x4
27-36. GA Sachets x10 (Won't be counting these as £1 each for my pot!)
37. UU The Body Shop English Dawn White Gardenia Body Mist. WDBA but Limited Edition :-( Have 2 EDT versions to use though
38. UU Neutrogena Visibly Renew Elasti-Boost Body Lotion sachet. Never had Neutrogena apart from a hand cream I hated so I wasn't expecting to like this but I did. WDB a full size.
39. GA Zara perfume (called Texture?) Liked this in the shop, not so much when I got home.
40. UU Garnier Extra Gentle Micellar Cleansing Wipes. WDBA. Compared to other wipes, these feel like silk! I don't use wipes everyday but I like to have a pack for those days where I really can't be bothered.
INs
23. L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes Excess Mascara. Came in Pink Parcel
24. Organic Surge Intensive Smoothing Serum. Came in Pink Parcel
25. Lipbalm. Came with Pink Parcel. Already GA so included in above list.
26. The Body Shop Atlas Mountain Rose Body Mist. Had my £5 birthday month offer to use so picked this up for about £3
Total down from 511 to 480!
So glad I took a bunch of stuff into work to GA. People were really pleased even though they were just sachets and sample sizes. They even offered me money, which I obviously declined.
Did anyone watch Trust Me I'm A Doctor? It had a feature about how we all illogically strip our skin of grease and oils when we shower/bath with gels/bubbles then pile it back on with synthetic moisturisers. The bloke also put pure SLS directly on his skin and left it on overnight- his skin looked terrible after! I've never been one to shampoo my hair everyday and, I think, that's why it's in pretty good nick but I never apply the same logic to my skin. Definitely will start looking for SLS free bath stuff I think!
Hope everyone's weekend isn't as wet as it is here in Kent!0 -

Is it ever acceptable practice to give a present of toiletries back to the original giver?
I got a cream and lotion duo for Christmas, which I can't use as I have a medical moisturiser on prescription and can't use anything scented. The friend has her birthday soon and I checked the expiry dates are still ok. Can I give her a nice "surprise" present?0 -
ANNA, I suppose it depends on the person. I'd find it slightly strange to be honest or perhaps would think you wouldn't care enough to spend a few quid for me - although I understand why you don't need them.
Happy birthday Fizz and thank you for birthday wishes. I have been away for couple of days and UU'ed 2 Elie Saab Perfume samples. Nice scent. If I needed any, I might have bought the full size. Vichy serum sample is also UU'ed. I do like Vichy products. I have couple more samples to go and some other products to UU but in the futura MBA.ally.0 -

Anna, I would look for someone else to donate them to, but what you could do is mention it to your friend that much as you appreciate her lovely gift you couldn't use them.
As they are 'usables', there is a danger that she would buy you them again.
I always buy my sister - on her request - Lady Million perfume at least once a year for Christmas or birthday, it costs me an arm and a leg, even on Amazon offers, but at least we both know where we are!
My sis bought me my latest UU, Downton Abbey body wash, 75ml. Freesia and mandarin scent. Perfectly ok but not a WB.
I am trying to get shot of all the little 50ml, 75ml and 100 ml gels and washes I have about the place. Normally I keep them for travel but with my hip needing replacing there won't be any travel for a little while.
That's OK with me, there are much, much worse things that I could be struck down with.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I think this is sensible advice - it feels quite impolite to return a gift to the giver after the event, I am sure her intentions were good at the time with her choice.
I've got a couple more UU to report - on a roll at the moment
- Antipodes avocado pear nourishing night cream.
I really like this cream, it's rich but it sinks in well and doesn't make me break out. I go to bed a bit shiny but when I wake up my face is dewy soft. The only thing I don't like is that it's a jar rather than a tube / pump, but I guess if I only used this and used every night it wouldn't take that long to get through a jar. I have a trilogy one to use and some sample sizes to try but I may well repurchase.
- This Works perfect heels rescue balm
This is a great foot cream - rich but sinks in well. I have a half used one of these to move onto that I had in my travel bag and a few others in my stash but I may well return to this.0 -
I have three UUs to report from using over the weekend:
Herbal Essences Citrus Dry Shampoo 65ml:Nice scent and worked well but my HG are the COLAB ones. WMBA.
Simple Radiance Brightening Wipes: Nice thick wipes with a fresh scent but I think Simple wpes are overpriced for what they are. WMBA if cheap.
Boots Botanics Cleansing Toner 250ml: This product freaked me out after several uses as when I read the back, it said it can increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun and you should limit your exposure tot he sun whilst using the product! Used most of it up when I could ensure that I could apply am SPF moisturiser afterwards but ended up throwing away some of it. No face product should cause your skin to become sensitive to the sun! WDNBA and I would urge you all not to buy it either as there is no warning on the front - only on the back in small print!0
