Nope, husband looked like a basset hound with a large nose and awful dress sense when I met him. He might not be an oil painting but I knew he was special that first day, and I was definitely right. And yes, I am physically attracted to him, but because of lots of little things like his smile, his laugh .... it's because he is the most amazing person and that was/is what I find irresistible about him.0 -

It's got to be more than physical attraction now. OH is twice the man he was when I met him. His lovely black hair has been replaced by a grey fringe thing, although he has a little tuft at the front.
My once dark hair is sort of strange blonde and I weigh three stone more.

What you find physically attractive might lure you towards that person, but if their nature and personality doesn't, then a deep, sincere and long lasting attraction won't happen.
I agree entirely but I need to find a person attractive before even thinking about starting a relationship with them.
General compatibility (including a healthy sex life), honesty, trust, kindness and care, romance and mutual respect for each other, a good sense of humour, a splash of common sense and consideration for financial matters are all ingredients that turn the initial physical attraction into a loving relationship.
