Local uk call charge is 30p per minute so not sure what I'd be charged with Ringo?

    eh 30p plus the 2p = 32p

It's madness to pay 30p/min when 3p-8p is easily available, not to mention PAYG bundles.

    Are you sure it's 30p, not 35p?
You could be right grumbler, it could be 35p, madness really if I've to pay that as well! Been looking at the o2 PAYG bundles but international calls obviously not included.

If you swap your O2 tariff to their international SIM rates, you can call an Ireland mobile for 5 pence a minute direct.
Just looked at that tariff redux and yes that would be good, I'd get 3000 free calls and texts to o2. Been thinking though on the PAYG bundles, those minutes are any network or landline but the problem is then with the ireland mobile I'm ringing and the 30 or 35p charge I've to pay as well along with Ringo!

No! Ringo access number is a UK 03.... number, so included in a bundle, no 35p charge

for example I'm on Tesco £7.50 a month with 500 uk mins. I use Ringo everyday to ring Irish mobile at 2p a minute and keep it well under 500 mins which is plenty for me

I don't have a bundle though, I've only free calls to o2 mobiles?

    no good.

surely it would pay you to get a bundle (other than 02 only) if you use your mobile much at all?

£7.50 will only get you around 22 mins on PAYG

So if I stay on payg I'm charged 35p plus 2p per min for Ringo? How do I not have to pay the 35p if I change to a bundle? If I changed to say 500 free minutes per month is that ok? Say I used the 500 minutes up obviously then I pay 35p?

£7.50 at Tesco Mobile is a pay monthly contract, not a bundle. The allowances include 250 minutes to geographical landline numbers and mobiles.
I guess Ringo will give you a geographical numbers that you can use the inclusive 250 minutes to call for 'free'.

You can get the same 250 minutes for the same £7.50 without a contract - https://www.giffgaff.com/goodybags/7.5pound-goodybag

Alternatively, just pay 3p/min on '3' PAYG or Delight Mobile:

That £7.50 with Tesco is good grumbler. Just been checking o2 as my monthly usage is approx 800 minutes and its £15 payg big bundle for 750 mins, 2000 texts and 1GB data or £18 (monthly sim) unlimited calls and texts plus 2GB data

Just looked at BT mobile as it's now 1000 minutes, unlimited texts and 2GB data for £12. Seems a good deal for bt broadband customers and considering changing from o2 to BT mobile??

Will miss out on my 10% rewards back from o2 though as a payg customer! Seems good deal with BT though!

With Tesco you can get 1000+5000+1Gb for £10 on 18-months contract (or 1000+5000+500Mb for 12x£10).

    http://shop.tescomobile.com/pay-monthly/sim-only/Tesco+Mobile/StandardMicro+SIM/tariff

For £12.50 they give 1500 minutes.
