abundant: re bread - maybe buy a gluten-free bread mix (Doves) and if you have a bread maker, just use the g-f programme on it. Or do it by hand.... Have had some great successes with this. Luckily, we get dd's bread free on prescription, and dh is satisfied with eating the 2 crust ends when 'required'. Dd will eat teh hm bread when it is warm and then refuse to touch it!!!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

I bought the doves gf bread flour today so will be attempting the bread recipe on the back. I've never tried making bread before so fingers crossed.
Yesterday turned out to be a NSD as OH paid for all the supplies for camping. We drove to a nature reserve and camped down by the loch which was lovely. Went for a few walks both yesterday and this morning.
Since I had the car, I thought I would quickly get the shopping in before it was due back. I went a bit over budget as I got a few bulky/heavy things that we need later on in the month. I will adjust my shopping budget for the next couple of weeks to try and stay under my monthly target.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

I have been following this thread since January but this is the first time I am posting. I just wanted to let you know that I find this thread really interesting to read and heartwarming the way you share/sympathise posts with eachother. This year I have suffered badly from exhaustion, normally I am full of energy but I am now feeling much better. I have found it quite hard to accept that my energy level has been lower than normal and have spent most weekends doing very little apart from the most essential. Reading this thread has helped me to accept how I have been feeling this year and not to feel disappointed with myself. I am now ready to start thinking about the future again.
Thanks again for a lovely thread.

Hello Becky2. Welcome to the NSTs! Have a read of Tilly's diary (countdown to freedom) as she has also had a year of having to cope with unexpected health issues.
Good luck misstara - I can never get the back-of-the-packet recipes to work!
Another NSD in the bag,and several knitting magazines will wend their merry way to the charity shop this week.
Dd is going to have a picnic tea, in her 'den' under the paddling pool (leant up against the climbing frame) while 2 of her Sylvanian critters get married. The imagination of a 7 yo!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Evening all,
Went to the wedding yesterday and it was beautiful and such a lovely day. What was just as nice was how many of my friends and the bride's friends and family rallied around me and didn't leave me alone for a moment (I was practically the only single person there). I had been quietly worried about being there on my own and although there were a few sad moments, lots of people seemed to be really aware of how the day might impact on me and it was touching of them all to be thinking of how I would feel.
Yesterday was also a SFD :j Ate and drank plenty but stopped drinking in the evening so I drove us back to the b&b and saved the taxi fareTodsy was a spend day as needed salad and cat food to add to the stores and see me through the week, and a thank you gift.
abundant, if you don't mind me asking, how did you find your counsellor?

Very quick post just to say that the bread was a success :j I tweaked the recipe a bit as it didn't seem the right consistency to start with so I added extra flour and I also left out the vinegar because I thought vinegar was a no no due to the barley content. I've sliced it up and frozen most of it for use during the next week or so.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

Hello fellow turtles! I hope you all had a nice weekend.
I managed to bag NSD number 9 today! I was very busy catching up with the household chores I didn't have time to go out to spend. Yay go me! I still have a few bits to iron and then I'm off to bed as I am on an early start tomorrow.
Last night OH and I went out with my colleagues to support another colleague who is involved in a youth theatre group. They performed Hair Spray last night and it was an absolute triumph. My colleague was the best of the bunch, we were totally blown away by her performance. For a very small price to pay (£13) it was totally worth it. Passed by Dominos pizza to buy pizza for the kids.
LTW tomorrow is already sorted. I separated a bit of the chicken stew we had this evening. Hoping for another NSD tomorrow.
Best get back to my ironing if I want to go to bed early. (By early I mean before midnight)

Fmess - where I am you self refer via your GP. I was able to get 8 sessions on the NHS... but then back along in Nov/Dec I was in a really bad place. I saw the GP to start anti-depressants as was having some quite bleak thoughts, and was given a leaflet if I wanted to access it.
Was really helpful for me and got me through a difficult crisis in my life... My only complaint was that I self-referred at the end of November and didn't get an allocated space until March.
(Oops - Sorry Fmess - originally posted this reply to NannyG - ammended now!!!)
