  • Does anyone have any advice for Blochairn market in Glasgow?

I went there last Sunday to check it out, and there were lots of empty spaces in the uncovered bit.

I'm going there next Sunday to sell the remainder of my house jumble sale, hoping to raise some more money for Macmillan.

I've got two friends coming, one has been before (but a few years ago). It seems we need to start queueing at 2am

We already have a list of things we need to remember, including:
    plastic sheets
    marker pens
    headtorches
    lots of warm clothes
    LOTS of tea

Any other advice will be much appreciated!

I thought lots of tea was a good idea at my first car boot. Wrong! I was having to go to the toilet all morning. and the tolilets are well, not very nice. So this time I took some hot food instead and some juice.
Also both times Ive taken some baby wipes. Not all toilets have loo roll or handwash.
Sellotape is a good idea also as somethings that are not selling I found as soon as Id stuck a sign on them, they sold.

I wish Id known about the headtorches last sunday. trying to unload your car at 4.30am in the pitch black on your own is not the best idea.
    Happy days

I did my first car boot 2 months ago, we had a whole car filled with odds & ends- tonnes of quality clothing, a few antiquey bits, used kitchen items & DIY stuff including unused paints. My niece did it with me & I believe we made £140( she kept all she sold), the one useful thing I did was hung lots of the clothes on a rail & ironing board so folks could see them instead of rumaging through boxes. I sold so much more than expected, didn't label prices & looked kindly on people who seemed to need things more than want them.
  • any recommendations on whether or not it would be more beneficial to do a car boots sale this Sunday or wait until after Christmas. It's mostly DVDs & CDs I have.

If there were car boot sales near me at this time of year I would go. I expect lots of people would be intersested in getting some new DVDs to watch over Christmas with all the rubbish that is usually on TV at this time of year :)
Not been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/155

A car boot sale on Boxing day, now that's what I call dedication.
