  • Late check in to say bog all done. Long day at paid stuff, followed by taking our girls out for tea to their favourite place (even though a school night) as they got their school reports today and they were brill. (They are only 5 and 7 so tbh I don't think they give them bad reports at that age). Then put then to bed, then late dog walk as I felt so fat after the meal I needed exercise. Will catch up tomorrow honest.

LW don't worry. Just an error, the insurance companies (along with most other organisations these days) are all about profit so staff doing the day to day work have too much to do. Too many mistakes happen, you only have to press the wrong button. I would emphasise your distress and they will sort it.
    Pigpen strength for tomorrow.

Kitchen pantry and utensil cupboard completely cleared out - a job I've been meaning to do for at least a year!

3 boxes of kitchen stuff packed for the move, dusty stuff all cleaned. Another bag of charity shop stuff/ recycling.

HM lentil soup for tea and chorizo risotto made for the rest of the week.

Not bad for a Monday night!

PANIC ALERT - WOLFY THROWING A WOBBLY; FEEL FREE TO SKIP THE FOLLOWING
I have a letter from the car insurance bods, demanding £458.00 for their "costs" They say it's a Final Demand - I have never had any previous correspondence regarding this. They also have me down in the letter as the driver of the other vehicle, the one that rammed us.:( I wasn't even driving our car, I was a passenger; I only rang the insurance first off after the crash because Mr LW was so shaken he couldn't operate his smartphone (we both hate touch screens, and I have an old fashioned "dumb" phone). I called Mr LW at work, and he rang them; they didn't seem to understand what he was talking about. So I've emailed them, and sent a scan of the letter, and of an excerpt from the Police RTA report, showing that someone else was driving the other vehicle (they quoted the reg no in the letter).
It looks to me like they should've sent this to the other driver, but they've got their wires crossed; but it's got me really upset and scared, as they talk about things like County Court proceedings.:(

    I'll shut up now.

Don't worry LW. It's clearly a mistake and these letters are all mouth. They do it to scare people into paying up, sometimes even when they don't owe anything. It's easier to threaten Joe public who might pay up out of fear of court action than to get the money from the other insurance company who will fight them for every penny.

BT did that to me once. Sent me a bailiff bill from 4 years previous when I moved into a new flat for a tenant that lived in an old flat I'd stayed in. Luckily (for me, not them!) I keep my paperwork! Initially they wouldn't even tell me what I owed them money for in the hope I'd just think I'd forgotten and pay it. Needless to say it didn't work and, after sending one of :money:'s template letters, I got an apology.

*Late night rant alert* Frustrated. Just been trying to book hotel room via a cashback site and a booking company. Keeps saying booking may not have been received and to phone them. Had the same trouble a couple of nights ago - Mr N rang them as I hate phones - spoke to a trying-to-be-helpful girl who didn't speak enough English to help. She said she could complete the booking. We said what about the cashback - huh? Asked her what email address she had. Gave her new one. This eve was another booking, another location but same companies. I tried new email address - guess what, she hadn't changed it. Changed it myself. On and on it goes. Maybe I'll book direct with the guest house tomorrow and abandon the cashback - but it's the principle. Of course Later00ms don't have email contact so I can complain - just the phone number so that ain't going to happen.

Other rant, nobody's fault except mine - went out to buy coat and a couple of tops and nearly died when I saw myself in the mirror. I thought I did a lot of walking on last week's trip, and didn't eat too badly - seems not. Really upset when I left shop. Not that there's much I can do about it by Thursday. Oh how I used to scorn people who said it's hard to lose weight after 50.....ok you win; it's true. Doesn't help with poor Mr N still hovering around the 9st mark.

OK rant and self pity over - at least publicly.

Anyway I got a nice coat in the sale, 2 tops and came home to a new assessment booking then put some more plants out. So not too bad a day.

    Evening everyone :hello:

Narco - can't say for the rest of Scotland but too cold, grey and wet here for any midges atm. Still no sunshine :(

LW - sooo sorry to hear about the letter. Hope the mistake's soon rectified and apologies issued.

Marvellous Monday! - a bit of everything!
Clearing surfaces - pick your most annoying 3! Could be kitchen sink, work tops, table, windowsill, mantelpiece, bit of floor, shelf of doom. Whatever, pick 3 and lose the gibble!
Now give the surfaces a good clean, then only put back what really belongs there.
Rehome the rest of the gibble (keep, bin, recycle)

    I did TWO -
coffee table and under-shelf cleared and cleaned
pile of vouchers/moc sorted and put in an envelope with contents on outside ready to take shopping.
    Will do another the morrow

_party_ Happy Special Birthday, Bossy x

(((Hugs))) LW. I'm sure your knight in shining armour will set them straight on your behalf.
Thinking of you today pigpen - calming vibes coming your way, and high-fives at the ready.
Narc0, glad to hear that work is going well for you, even if losing weight is proving more difficult. Do you think I can lose the last 7lb I want off? No way! (Mind you, I licked out a cake bowl last week - that's fatal, it always puts a couple of pounds back on me.)
CY, sounds like a film worth seeing. We've still got several DVDs that we haven't watched, but I tend to fall asleep in front of the small screen - not so much chance of doing that if we go to the cinema.
Go for the job, mummyroys! Flyladies are on a roll!

Yesterday evening I decluttered strawberries and non-alcoholic cocktails with the Old Wives, with a Wimbledon Quiz (with rounds on tennis, strawberries and the Wombles) on the side. Everyone enjoyed it - even the one member who is usually grumpy about anything and everything, but fortunately she loves strawberries :p

2 small jobs plus packing to be done before we go to SW and then off to Stonehenge - haven't been there since I drove past as a child. I discovered that entry is free to NT as well as English Heritage members so we are covered :money:

(((Hugs))), spoons and sticks all round. Hope the sun shines for everyone today x

Glad you enjoyed the film CY.
Piggers - thinking of you today.

LW stupid insurance company. I know it's hard but try and let it go and also get comp for distress caused! Lovely picture to help you? On holiday on our last day we saw a beautiful border collie puppy - still with fluff - carrying and playing with the largest strawberry you have ever seen!! She didn't know what to do with it!! Wished I had enough language skills to ask to take a photo!!!

Trying to keep busy before weigh in as it looks as if maintained or half lb on!!! Who was it said hard to get weight off after 50 - well try after 60!!
