Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week or getting motivated when it comes to housework then come and join us.

Thank you Natty for last week's thread

Every room comes back around next week so please don’t stress about catching up

These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.

Also adding a declutter mission each day will help to gradually clear the clutter and make flying easier.

A few of the basics before we start the week

Hotspots are areas where if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!

Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc.

Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.

Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a bin bag and whiz around the house finding items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.

Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis

HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!

    Hi all x

Thanks to Bossy for this week's thread and to Natty for last week x

I went awol as I've been flying getting the caravan ready for our jollies on Tuesday. So I will be out after Monday evening. I'm back on Sunday so I will try to catch up with the thread then.

I've just scrubbed the bathroom and cleaned the LR. Just the floors to do. OH cleaned the Scullery this morning so I'm hoping that just a swish and a swipe should do that tomorrow. DDs bedroom tidied earlier today. So that just leaves me the hall, my bedroom and DS2s bedroom to do tomorrow. I've managed to empty the washing basket so that it's just holiday washing when I get back.

Off to do some knittings xx

I'm in - thanks bossy:A I also echo what others have said xx

CY - thoughts and prayers continue to come to you from the south coast xx

We are a strong bunch, aren't we? Even if we don't always feel like we are xx

Yesterday, Dad and I went to a family BBQ - family that we didn't know existed until the start of the year! My 80 year old Dad has met 4 of his cousins (plus partners, children, grandchildren and, in one case, a great-grand child!) for the first time ever!!

I have never seen 5 generations of one family in the same place at the same time but my great aunty was there with each generation down to her 11 month old great-great-grandson!

Ok, liking the bit of everything list, bossy

Thank you for the lists bossy and natty
I'll be in as much as I can
    Loads to do this week
Hugs and good wishes to all who need them, in fact a fly lady group hug for us all. Here's to the support we all give and share with each other:beer:

Did the shed this afternoon, didn't really mean to but it's pirate day at school on Tuesday, not sure what I'm wearing yet but we have all been told to expect to get wet as there will be a massive staff v kids water fight on the field so I've dug out all the super soakers we own and they are coming school with me.
Threw a binbag of stuff out, planted up a peanut plant from a kit we had and decluttered a couple of bottles of crabbier each when a friend came round.

Have done some crocheting and am about halfway through 2ndbig ball so square is growing.
Just need to water neighbours greenhouse as she's back tomorrow, won't bother with garden as it rained all morning;)

    Thinking of you CY

I've had a whizz round tonight putting things away, finishing what I started in the conservatory and setting the DW on. Our school and work bags and clothes are ready, and DDs swim cossie is in her school bag for when the inlaws take them swimming after school.

I've got paid stuff then I'm going to the early weigh-in. Wanted my next award this week but that's not going to happen. I've not really been focused. Nor will it next week - but I will get there eventually!

My three surfaces of doom for tomorrow night are:
Top of the fridge. It must be minging with dust - I never wipe it for all the carp on it!
The corner behind the chair in the conservatory - it's just a random pile of books and cheap tat!
Living room floor - ok I'm cheating here, it's not cluttered but it's soooo dusty, I will sweep after work and mop after kiddie bedtime.

Hugs CY, hope the nurse calls with positive news xx

    Night all
    X

  • Hi,

Thanks for the list bossy, and the ring is lovely.
A bit of everything list is a great idea. My purse is absolutely rammed to the gills with rubbish. I am embarrassed when buying things. "Do you have a loyalty card" - yes but it would take me hours to find it so I won't bother.
Had a good day today, OH's family round for tea, we always have a good time. Also the food took longer to prepare than I thought and I was left with only half an hour to tidy round and make the place look presentable, and although it wasn't fantastic, it was OK, which is a massive step forward for me. Half an hour! Thanks everyone, your support is helping! Xxx
