Help Please - Returning a Faulty Item

Options
Hello

I am trying to return an arrival which arrive about 6 days ago which was dead on arrival. It was a TV tuner that did not power on. (I Have done all the necessary tests etc.)

I get this email from the seller:

'We are very sorry for the trouble. Sorry we never met such a problem before. So as for that, could you please agree us to refund half of money to you as our sincere apology? And you can keep the item without sending back to save your postage, you can ask professional person to check it, do you think it's OK? Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Best regards'

I am pretty sure that the Consumer Contract Regulations state that I can get a full refund including postage.

This is a british seller, although interestingly I think is from China. Don't really understand.

Would really appreciate some help

Definitely looks like a Chinese seller, probably shipping from one of those massive warehouses they hold in the UK.

It's all very well quoting CCR to them but there is nothing anyone can do when they are actually in China.
Answering the above post might help.

So you can have a non-working one for half price.

Why would anyone want a non-working one... at any price?
  • Exactly!! Any other suggestions?

EBay complaints procedure/ PayPal complaints procedure .
  • I used the refund features provided by eBay. It says they will step in about a weeks time. This is getting very annoying now!

    Was my thought exactly.

Ebay have a bad reputation for siding with the buyer, but in this case it sounds like that reputation will be in your favour
