Sudden batch of text messages from 66066?

I have just had four text messages in a short space of time from 66066, all weird and slightly garbled regarding free bets. The last one says to text STOP to cancel.

Does anyone know what this is, if I will be charged for receiving these four messages and if I would be charged to send the cancellation text (or indeed if I should!)?

I am really worried about this and not sure what to do.

Don't know if it costs you (most likely it doesn't), but I never reply to such texts.

Instead you can contact the spammers directly and complain to the regulator if needed:

I am getting the same! I went to text STOP but my phoned warned me i would be charged for it!
  • I got 4 messages this morning and replied STOP as it said. Got an auto response saying unsubscribed from CORAL and i will get no more messages.

I have had another 2 since starting to wind me up now!
  • I don't think it is actually Coral....probably some shady dealer waiting for people to respond so they know what numbers are "alive".

I have tweeted Coral on twitter to find out if this number if one of their "marketing" companies.

I also replied STOP and have received 6 since. I would recommend NOT RESPONDING and just blocking the number. Won't be happy if I get charged for it. Feel like I should charge them per text I receive after saying stop, not that I would get anywhere.

So irritating. Will post Corals response once I receive it, although not holding my breath.

Coral obviously know as spammers don't work for free.
Bookies are one of the most unscrupulous industries in this country, next to cowboy builders and loan sharks.
  • Coral are apologising to everyone on twitter, the're saying its a software error.

    Don't panic, I doubt you'll be charged.

I've had 7 of these since 8.25am today. Very, very annoying especially as it work me up after working a late shift yesterday.

If it is Coral I'd like to know how they've got my number as I've never given it to them or have an account with them. Feel a complaint coming on. Wish I'd not deleted some of the texts now
