I'll aim for 10 and three in a row. I think July will be harder than June - DD1 is home from university and school finishes for summer, plus we'll be getting ready for our hols!Declutter our home in 2024

Hi,
I'd like to go for 10 NSDs, and 4 in a row please
Whee,we have a newbie!Welcome Ratison! :hello:
Budge up everyone, more space needed on our battered sofa.
Now,Ratison:would you like tea or tea?And can you bring our own cup...we've run out, unless you're happy with an empty jam jar?
Mrs Doyle has finally put her foot down and has banned coffee from Ennessdee Towers!
Coffee is evil,apparently.Tea is not.
Sorry folks.
PS I've hidden the instant coffee behind the cistern btw.... :cool:Nargleblast wrote: »Oh, marmite, what a star you are, you have really pulled all the stops out this time! A splendid challenge indeed! Who can resist glamping on Wimbledon Common ( the Nargle only does glamping, dears, never anything downmarket like camping - shudder - I mean, where, in a common tent, does a girl store her shoe collection?) , a trip to Wimbledon, strawberries, cream and Pimms, open air barbecues ( stoat kebab, anyone? ) and, of course, Igor and Tatty' s wedding in the beautiful grounds of Ennessdee Towers?
I have to say that glamping is a new experience for me.Camping...a doddle-
You're bringing your spongebobby Jimmy Chew collection I see...
Well in that case,I'm taking all my lovely, gorgeous handbags with me,oh,and the chandeliers, the best crystal wineglasses,my massage table, foot spa, thigh buster and Igor wants to take his trouser press, chef's knives and Tatty's weights.Hubert needs the karaoke machine, his slimming mirror, all his lotions and potions and his collection of antique donkey spanx.Cheffie needs to take the kitchen with him and his precious things (the boom boom mainly, his tennis raquet, extra Swedish meatballs and rubber ducky, plus 23 back up rubber duckies).
That's apart from all our clothes, sleeping bags, valium, the crates of wine that I discovered hidden under Mrs Doyle's brick collection etc.
What do you mean it's too much?Hi All
After this disastrous month I would like to commit to a modest 10 NSD to try and get back on track.

Ooooh Elliesmum...I don't want to hear any talk of disaster....I see from my magic notebook that you are half way to your target...don't despair...remember every nsd is a triumph over the evils of consumerism and we rejoice with you! :j
Some months are hard.Fact.
TBH sometimes I wonder if I don't spend the same amount of money that I would have anyway, but just manage to put it off for a few days IYSWIM.
I know that's probably not the case,as I try to keep temptation at bay as much as possible ie no window shopping (that's a huge help .You can't be tempted by what you don't see).
Going into town on my days off,and buying something just to buy something;that was another terrible habit that I've managed to kick...
Living on my own helps, that's true.I don't have to buy for anyone else - apart from the cat.
Think about all the positive steps you've made since becoming an MSE bod.I'm sure that there are more than a few.
Finally, are you maybe being too strict with your nsd rules? It's worth having a think about. For me the challenge is about avoidable spends (often impulsive in my case).
Rent, taxes, the electricity bill etc. I have to pay,the same with prescriptions, travel costs so these don't count for me.
Sermon over.

Mrs Doyle wants to take her brick collection, plus 17 extra pinnies 'just in case',her best tea service and the Pope clock. Then there's the small matter of where we are going to fit the 20 000 tea bags that she insists we need....0
