Ours was Millionaires by the Script! Lmao!
Our second song got naffed up by the naff DJ so I didn't get my dance with me Daddy which still makes me do an angry cringe now.
Walked up the aisle to Vangelis (bought tears to my dads eye, I'm defo an 80's baby!)
But my parents song was the Birdie Song, and they both danced it again on my Dads 60th birthday party a couple of years ago, God bless my lovely, nutty parents, anything to give themselves a chuckle, bless 'em!

I wanted Deep Purple - Love Conquers all, but ended up with Boyzone, Father and Son......
OH got the hospital radio to play the Boyzone song after I had my son, so it does have special memories (even though I much prefer the Cat Stevens version!)0 -
Forty years ago it wasn't usual to have a favourite song for the first dance. We practised a 'modern' waltz and thought we were doing well until the band started up .......... with an old fashioned waltz.
Most of you are probably too young to have a clue what that meant.
. . .I did not speak out
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me..

Slightly similar to itsanne - but also very different, lol - I got married in OH's country, and their tradition is that the first dance is a waltz.
OH can dance. I can't. But we practiced and practiced that waltz, and on the night he birled me around that dancefloor like a Disney couple.
Then the rest of the wedding party had a turn at dancing the waltz with the bride or groom. It all went horribly wrong when one of the guests of honour - who didn't know how to lead - tried to waltz with me - who didn't know how to follow.
A number of people asked afterwards if the guest of honour had a wooden leg...0 -
You're all I need to get by - Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell - spoilt a tad by the Bird and Cat ad on the telly!0
