I add the price of the items up in my head as I add them to my trolly. Keeps my mind active, I know instantly if something has gone wrong and stops me spending too much.0

We've been overcharged a couple of times in tesco, where they have either charged us for something twice or not given bogof as advertised. We've never had double back though - I'll bear this in mind next time it happens and ask for it.You never know how far you can fly, till you spread your wings.0

Das, i didnt have to ask, i just asked for the price of the phone call and petrol but i was told i would get double the price back0

I think its really scary that supermarkets can make such mistakes and the people who dont check could be losing money.
Even if its only 10p thats MY 10p!!!

I heard years ago that the shops make mistakes with peoples bills so that the customer ends up paying for all the stuff that is pinched off the shelves each day,as if they don't make enough out of us all as it is with their food that rots as soon as you walk out the door.0

I work on the checkout in a large supermarket. Sometimes ill be scanning away and something doesn't scan. so i move it back and forth a bit, and it scans twice!!! there is an item correct button to take the last item off... fair enough. but sometimes this happens and the scanner only beeps once.
I've been working there almost 2 years now and got into the habbit of checking my screen.
The most annoying thing is when and item has a reduced sticker on it but whoever put the barcode sticker on didnt cover the full price barcode up correctly. So it scans the full price then the reduce price (and often only beeps once) I have to get the supervisor to take the full price off as i can only take the last item off.
I am quite careful when it comes to scanning and watch the items and prices come up (cos im sad and have nothing better to do) but if there is a mistake made I always sort it out. Often though the customer huffs that is it my fault something scanned wrong and moan they have to wait.
God.. i could rant all day but ill stop here lol0 -
just thought i'd add that i went and did my supermarket shop tonight and stood and checked the receipt before leaving!! all was fine though, but i will be checking all the time in future!:happyhear0
