Hi all,
I need to get back in the saddle, as I have completely messed up and bank account is suffering....
I will go for £300
This is for 2 adults, 2 cats, 1 full time DS Teen (17) and one part time DD teen (19) - DS now finished for the summer at school, so more snacking will be done, but that's accounted for
I am going to try and bulk buy some basic meat early next week, 2kg mince £8, 30 sausages £7, 60 boned chicken thighs £18, this should cover our meat meals for the month, then it will just be veg and basics.Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!
£300/£1300 -
Hello folks, I'm going to play as well this month
I'm aiming for £250. I'd prefer £200, but since I've no idea where we're at with the shopping at the moment (:o) this seems like a good number to aim for. It's just me and the OH, this is for food only.
It's been a long time since I've done this, am so looking forward to getting back in action! :j
Our cupboards are well stocked and I want to make the most out of our supplies, including doing a lot more batch cooking for the freezer.
Good luck everyone!a penny picker upper. MFW approx 78% to go | FIRE 3 years worth (30% savings rate: now aiming for 40%!) | Normality is a paved road; it's comfortable to walk, but no flowers grow on it | Whatever you're meant to do, do it now. The conditions are always impossible | The only thing you absolutely have to know, is the location of the library0 -
First few spends to report:
£9 in poundworld - 4 mini baskets to organise wonder bairn's snack draw in the kitchen, refilled my emergency porridge stash (peppa pig banana flavoured porridge 2 for £1 so got four for wonder bairn) and then various other cleaning bits etc
£50 (rounding up was a little under) in Morrisons on all the general stuff. Trying Morrisons out as a regular place; closer than either ASDA or Tesco and the way they work their match & more points means they can really rack up. I think I got over 1000 for this shop! Got a few snack bits in for bf, extra bits for wonder bairn, new cereal for me then a load of fresh fruit and veg as I'm going back to Slimming World groups rather than doing it alone and wanted to be prepared! Trying not to buy freezer stuff as I'm hoping that will make moving day easier with no frozen food to worry about. Also got a few bits bf won't eat for me and wonder bairn for whilst hes away this week in Poland (nothing exotic just garlic kievs etc)
£3 on chicken breasts in Lidl - we've not bulk ordered any for ages so ran out. Really disappointed with the price of fresh chicken in the supermarkets so will be hoping to move asap then get a bulk order in. It will fill most of a freezer draw but I don't mind that!
£7 healthfood shop which included banana chips (one of my all time favourite things), 2 x fruit drops for wonder bairn; like sweets but only fruit based usually buy a childrens brand and get 4 small packets for about £2 this way I spent £2 and got 2 big bags which I will ration out, popcorn for bf, dried cranberries to make flapjack for bf
so £69/£130 spent. This lot should last me a minimum of two weeks with the addition of bread, wafer thin ham and possibly milk. Wonder bairn is in nursery a lot the next couple of weeks so will get most of her meals there (just an evening meal portion to provide when she gets home) and I'm still on a quest to clear the cupboards down more to make it easier when we move - I'll then spend a little more and do pretty much a full restock after that point************************************

Hi Everyone,
OH and I would love to join the challenge. Just us two, setting the target for July at £150
We never go much more than that but not budgeted it properly for a while so would be good to keep tabs on it and hopefully lower it over time! :money:Frugal Student!!!0 -
I'm back in for July with the usual £250 which covers all food, drink, toiletries etc for 2 of us. Although not officially in for June due to holiday I still managed to come in under budget, so pleased with that.
My month runs from 1st July.

Hi everyone, been lurking here for a while but after recently buying a house and doing a lot of credit card splurging on furnishings and decorating, it's time for me to bite the bullet and knuckle down to some old style ms
I'm in Ireland and there is myself, husband and 2 kids but I cook everything from scratch so hopefully will be able to stick to my budget.
Put me in for €165 please!0
