I reinstalled ZA and still got the same result. I then installed Sunbelt Personal Firewall with same failed result.
Can't see a way foreward as yet. Cheers, tweeter.Peel back your baby's eyelid to find no nationality or religious identity mark there. Peer at your baby's eyes for them to reflect back just people-throw away your flags and religious symbols...0 -
I love Norton, it does what it say's on the tin.
10 years on the net and never a virus, I know Norton is not the peoples choice but I have never had a problem with it and I know how to set it up.
If you still don't want Norton here is my thread on how to remove it.

I must say that Norton's most recent products have won some praise from the industry for being much less bloated and lighter on system resources.
Its by no means the lightest on system resources(Kaspersky and NOD32 are amongst them), but its a huge step away from the likes of Internet Security 2005/6.Lack of money is the root of all evil.

Yep , Norton 360 was recoded from scratch to make it less bloated and lighter, and was well received.
I think Norton may have finally realised the error of their ways.0 -
Unless you are an IT expert, I wouldn't get too fussed about outbound protection, most people when prompted with xxx.exe wants access to the internet will tick allow, and remember, so there is no point having outbound protection if you do that. Any good malware will just disable the firewall anyway.
Vista has outbound monitoring, but you don't get a prompt to allow or deny, it is a bit of a fudge, and hard to configure for outbound.
For me, a router (+ resident AV/antispyware) is the best protection, and if you are techie enough to understand what xxx is, then an outbound monitoring firewall as well (but you will probably spend all day researching what xxx is, as just about everything tries to phone home nowadays).
If you have a NAT router, then the grc tests are testing your router, not your software firewall. If nat is on, then any probes shouldn't get past the router, the software firewall is just a second line of defence, and will protect you from any worms inside your home network.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
KAV and Nod32 all the way.. wouldn't touch Norton in a million years!0

I use Norton 360 and it works very well, plus it can be installed on 3 PCs.0
