  • I wrote to the CEO who passed the letter to a member of the excutive customer services team. She was very polite etc but relied on the fact that the IT department said there wasnt a problem with the e mails but failed to explain or give a reason for the fact that the confirmation e mail didnt arrive for 8 weeks after which time I had already contacted them about the problem

She advised me that she will provide a letter for me to take it up with my travel insurance and claim off of them. Which I shall do before possibly taking court action against Easyjet.

My argument is that a friend booked the same flights and couldnt do it on the same day and in fact received her confirmation 4 days later. This had erros on it and was returned 3 times for corrections which easy jet did at no cost eg names wrong, then mixed up first name of 1 person with anothers surname and finally spelling mistakes. Had I received confirmation this would have shown the wrong destination so they could have adjusted it immediately at no cost to me.

I will have to see how I fare with claiming off of travel insurance as the easy jet rep suggets.

This seems to be going around in a circle...

What possible reason do you think you have for making a claim on your travel insurance?

Not sure why Easyjet would take you down this path. Do please post an extract of what they place in this letter for you to pass on to your insurers.

Because OP isn't listening to them re their lack of responsibility so they're suggesting alternatives

Likely text will include OP booked a flight to Malaga - presumably after the take off date they can then claim for 'missed flight' to Malaga under their travel insurance - can't see any other get out/refund opportunity before then
  • Great news!!!!!

Easyjet have issued a credit voucher for the full amount to be used on future flights that must be booked in the next 6 months but not used during that time. All along I said I didnt expect a cash refund and would settle for a credit voucher against future travel.

Perseverance and determination have won the day. I am very pleased
