I am so glad that I am not the only one who found moonlight a challenge.

The plot (as I saw it if there was one) had so many possibilities, none of which were actually explored and the story just died a death really.

Moonlight..... !!!!!!! Some great acting, but the story line was absolutely dire, to the point, where there wasn't really a story line

Agreed. 2 Hours went reasonable quick but the pace got slower and slower and ended in a major anti-climax imo. The final third could have gone a number of different ways that would have improved the film.

Not too far from my report on HIDDEN FIGURES

Also 2 hours that dragged a little in places.

Had a basic story, a journey, but TOTALLY predictable with no surprises or twists and turns.

1960's USA, women (and black at that) in a men's world of science and technology (NASA) rising "above their station" (to save the day) despite the attitude of the vast majority of their white co-workers and the general population of that time and place.

Basically the trailer .... and the whole film in a nutshell.

    Sadly BLAND, VERY BLAND.
I know it can be difficult (with "artistic licence") when creating something based on true events, BUT this lacked any real spark.

Disappointingly failed to meet my expectations by a mile. Shame really.

Somewhere between a 6/10 and 7/10 for me

My goodness me ....I've just peeped into this thread after seeing it but never venturing in....
    :hello:

I am off to see hidden figures later in the week...surely it can be no worse than moonlight...that one would even fail to score IMO...so I am hoping for something a little better with HF!

I'm off to see Hidden Figures on Monday. Unfortunately, I've seen a trailer (hate seeing them) so have an idea what the movie is about, but still looking forward to it

    Don't get me wrong ...

... I thought it was "ok", just nothing special (based on the trailer and some of the "hype", promotional and otherwise, surrounding the film)

Perhaps I've been spoiled by the recent EXCELLENT screenings of WHY HIM? and LION :j
