    Oh, you had subtitles?

The first half of the film was 95% subtitled ...

... since they mostly spoke Bengali or Hindi.

  • I have got tickets to see Hidden Figures on Monday but it says on the ticket I need a specific page from Heat magazine, which I haven't got.
Do they actually ask for this when they check tickets at the cinema? I am just wondering whether it is worth turning up without the page or whether I need to cancel my tickets as I haven't got it.
I would be grateful if somebody could advise.

In my experience I have never been asked for anything other than the printed ticket...occasionally I do actually have the "page from" but have never needed or offered it.

I have been going to screenings for several years.

The only film I've ever been asked for was Les Mis and they made all those who didn't have the torn-out page from the paper wait at the side. Then they realised they were being daft and let everyone in anyway!

They don't have the time to take your ticket and a page from the paper/magazine.

It sometimes glitches when the bg's are tidying up.

Send a pm to Sarah, she'll correct it.

    Don't get me wrong ...

... I thought it was "ok", just nothing special (based on the trailer and some of the "hype", promotional and otherwise, surrounding the film)

I thought Hidden Figures was brilliant and would gladly have paid to see it.:T

Maybe it's because of the types of movies you like. I'm into action movies and science fiction. But it's not my typical sort of movie either.

This is a NASA movie, but it's not really about space or civil rights stuff (although both of those things are included). It's about some really clever people (who just happen to be black women) being really good at maths and being able to come up with answers that the people around them can not even see the questions for.

The USSR is winning the Space Race. NASA it's getting it's bum kicked. They need results. They don't want to let any of these women at the problem, but the women are the solution they need.

We already know that the women are important (because the movie is about them) and we already know that NASA made it up into space (because it is well known history) but we don't know the lives of these women because they are three cogs in a gigantic machine that got people into space.

I really enjoyed getting to know who these women were.

  • I have tickets for a film tomorrow from show film first but I don't have a printer or access to one. My email says it's not a ticket and I should print one off. But I can't. What can I do? Surely this has happened to others?
